Could you do a v inside of a V??? Like the inner v is electrobolts, small lasers, railguns. The outside v would be heavy cannon, standard cannon, and heavy laser blaster. The connectors and the ends of the vs would have tractor beams. Does anyone else have this idea??? Also since i just came up with this idea im gonna make the ship's shape on here using the keyboard.

BattleCruiserCommander Yes, that is called a "W" ship.
Becuase most people go as far as W, but, from what I recall, you can get about 5 of these "pyramids" on a ship the size of the standard grid. Mine costs about 1 mil.

Fort_Master_Gustav oh. I'm not familar with meta ships besides just the basic Walls, Kiters, Spinners, Splitters ect.

GNUSMAS What about the other one?

CursedPh4nt0m I've already got a second one too:
The 'Dragonfly 2.5' - a modified version of the original design by Lukz2cool.

CursedPh4nt0m he won and I didn't hurt him.

GNUSMAS That's odd, the old version already damaged it, how come the new one didn't?
You wouldn't mind sending me your new version btw?
The range of the flak is limited due to the placement btw, so ramming the front should allow your missiles to slip by and hit the back. You're gonna take some damage from the flak tho, so you should do it before your frontal armor gets destroyed.

So I started making a new ship, for longer range engagements, and it's not nearly finished yet, it needs more missiles, thrusters and I haven't even started on the internals yet, however I'd like some constructive criticism before I go much further with the design

Also ignore the mess of a control room next to the thrusters, I just slapped that on for a weapons test and forgot to remove it

darkdragon396 for GCW 4 phantom reactors produce more energy than one normal reactor and you have massive central reactor spam. the frontal nukes and railguns do not nearly have enough protection

GNUSMAS How do I say that? Get rid of that nuke. They are incredibly slow, their factories explode violently and a dual railgun would deal way more damage. Other than that, you should replace the cannons with side-facing flak/pd, add at least one more CR and seperate the thruster modules, to increase crew efficiency and get rid of like half of the quarters.

chief_chaman478 Gimme a moment, I'm still looking for something with similar cost. Flak only is an interesting choice tho, might be the small fireing angle is a big disadvantage on this design.

Fort_Master_Gustav You could possibly borrow me a ~500.000 ship? Seems like I don't have anything even close to that cost...

GNUSMAS i am not a teacher but ,though it seems alright, there are a few problems: the shields on the missles will not hold due to the crew prioritising loading the launchers
the flak on the back may be a bit overkill, a few pds could do
the nuke as CursedPh4nt0m said is uterly useless and should be replaced by a ailgun
here is a missile module that has a shield module within itself

CursedPh4nt0m if you dont have anything feel free to use something more exspensive just interested

chief_chaman478 You do know that module is a massive waste of reactor power tho?
Okay, hope I've got something below 700.000....

CursedPh4nt0m yes but better to protect the module and waste some power than to leave it unprotected

chief_chaman478 My modules run on only one reactor and still have their shields powered.
About your ship: The basic idea is working just fine, but the flak stops targetting projectiles once the enemy gets into weapon range, completely dropping it's defensive advantage. I'd have to test it against something more expensive than 350.000 to give you actual feedback tho.
Edit: Finally found something, seems like the flak really was a good choice. Just keep in mind it's rather easy to flank, as the thruster placement barely supports turning.
Edit 2: Just had another round against my first I/C-Wall version and watched your ship chain-explode in the first ten seconds. Seems like you've got to put some internal armor.
