For the first GREAT MOD! The first LVL was on hardest mode finally a real challange but for now i search for more. I want to implement by my own ships that give me a greater challenge (because some mods installed that i dont want to miss). I searched now a long time in the mods list and post a discussion on this forum but dont find anything. I want something like a "drag and drop" function but i think a this time it dont exsist. So my question now is: How you get in new random enemy ship encounters manualy???
The_Bloodnaught I actually haven't heard of that mod! Could i get a link so I know if it will be similar?

I think you should implement more beam-weapons and use the buff system, so this is an idea that popped into my head:
Alright, I suppose you remember the once amazing (and unbalanced) but now abandoned mod called Archon's Plasma mod?
Well, if I remember it right there was a rotatable Ion Beam thing. I am thinking in this direction.
So I am thinking about an ion beam turret, about the size of the Firecracker cannon. It would be able to rotate about 90° and it's laser about as powerful as the ion beam.
Of course, to prevent this from becoming OP: It would be expensive, it would eat energy like crazy and due to it compressing the batteries it explodes upon death.
About the buff part, you could add something, size 1x1 or 2x2, that would buff energy weapons next to them. Perhaps to increase damage. This buff is stackable, so very powerful together with the turret mentioned earlier.
What's the catch? Those buffing devices are explosive and have a passive energy use, so crew must bring power to them all the time.
To make them worth stacking a lot, one
would have to add more reactors, making the ship even more explosive, and this mechanic less OP.
What do you think? If this goes too far from the vanilla vibes, I understand. Just tell me and I'll suggest more vanilla-like things instead.

I made this ship. It's called the "T-Class Battlecruiser" or just T-Class.
It's completely vanilla, and even when it's front shields are down, it can just keep fighting until it's comletely destroyed, meaning it's challenging/annoying to defeat, so it's good. It has 20 lasers, 8 small cannons, 2 very long railguns, and 16 large cannons just on the front. It has a lot less cannons on the 2 "sarifs" coming down from the front, and it has missile launchers at the back.

ShadowCrafter You can still make it better, there are useless doors, FTL can be removed, the lasers use more power than the reactor can handle... With this mod perfecting what you have built is the key .
Right now, the ship I submitted earlier (Cataclysm) is a lot cheaper and defeats yours. So you might want to take a second look at it.

Yours started good, but the cannons and lasers quickly ran out of ammo & power.
About damage to my ship:
The ions remained mostly untouched, you destroyed my railgun and some heavy lasers (I tried the battle three times, and mine won all three.)
