Prepare to die!

Galaxy in Flames is a mod that intends to add a level of difficulty that will "kick your teeth in" to the bounty mode with difficulty modes that will insult your competency and make you question your life choices. It also adds some new mechanics and features such as mining, trading, crafting, and scrapping to the basic Cosmoteer experience. But, and perhaps most importantly, it completely replaces the ship library with hundreds of much more powerful ships many of which, are community submitted. A good comparison to make is that this mod makes Cosmoteer into Dark Souls in space.

How about those parts?

The parts in Galaxy in Flames are to enhance the experience and, may, be your only chance at a successful run of the bounty mode. While all the parts are being made to be balanced, to a competitive level, they will enhance your survivability and increase your cash flow. That means no "one shot" weapons you milk drinker.

Current list of parts

RMDS : The Rotary Munition Defense System is a PD on steroids, on top of that its a roof weapon!
Miner Beam : It mines asteroids to get the juicy ore inside.
Refinery : Refines ore into heavy, but delicious looking, ingots that can be sold for credits!
Scrapper Beam : It scraps ships, that's right, salvage your enemies mid fight for extra cash!
Restitutor : Takes scrap metal and converts it into those sweet, sweet ingots.
Ingot Storage : Stores the ingots and can be toggled to sell them when you are near a friendly station.
Short Band Radio : The thing you need to talk to said station in order to sell.
Trading Station : Great if you need to make your own station.

Mining

Galaxy in Flames has a Mining and Scrapping Mechanic! You can now mine asteroids and scrap ship wrecks! Both accidental and less accidental ones!

Asteroids are located in Mining Worlds with varying size and number, and be on the look out for rebel miners as they will attack you if you get to close.

To mine asteroids is simple enough, have a Miner Laser and just get real close to the aseroid! You need a Refinery to process the raw ore into ingots for storage. You can then sell these ingots at a friendly station in a Besieged Station World assuming it has not been captured. To sell you must have a short range radio, your ingot storage full and set to "Sell" and when it is range of the friendly station it will sell the resources. When the resource is sold go to your blueprints and click accept changes and BOOM you will be rewarded with some sweet sweet cash!

Remember sometimes you will enter a station world and the station will be captured, you can not trade at these stations for obvious reasons. Partly because they are more interested in killing you.

There is a Trade Station in the Misc Tab, you do not need this for trading, however it can be used to make your own stations! To trade with your own station you need to have the stations Trade Station target the ship you want to trade with (as in shoot it) and BOOM you can trade with it!

Scrapping works the same way but you need a Scrapper beam and a Restitutor to break down the scrap into ingots. Then just scrap the wrecks for some easy cash!

Trade Stations are extremely heavy parts and they are not recommended to be used unless you want to submit a station for the mod or if you have no Besieged Station worlds spawn.

AI usable Explosive Charges

Thanks to clojelo's mod there is now a toggle on Explosive Charges that allow for you to set them to auto-fire! This allows you to have AI ships that auto separate, or you just want to have charges go off if an enemy is too close. Great for nuke pikes, if that's still a thing

    Northerner Sound like a great idea! I might submit some of my older ships to be added too, and will definitely download it!

    Northerner The only conversion mods are BH mods and clojelo's crew color mod. Although, I suppose having to use override to add many as it is now is a troublesome issue with compatibility. Is that the reason for incompatibility here?

    Lafiel yes, this mod overides nearly all aspects of the bounty mode. If we had something like if/then statements I could make a work around but to my knowledge cosmoteer does not have any functions like that at this time.

        Dumb there is a wide variety of difficulty modes in this mod that cater to players of all skill levels! So, even if you have trouble with the built in bounty hunter mode, you can still have fun with this modified version!

        Northerner You forgot reverse thrust on your ships.
        There is no (if there is, it's almost unnoticeable) space-drag on ships now, and thrusters don't have lateral anymore.
        EDIT: Oops, it's only on some of your ships that you forgot reverse thrust.

            Lafiel Galaxy in Flames is actually ABH compatible! I did not actually have ABH downloaded so i didn't know if it was compatible or not but put it as non compatible in the description just in case it wasn't. But i downloaded ABH and there is no comparability issues between Galaxy in Flames and ABH as it stands. Also awesome mod btw

              0.3.3 Update:

              • Updated some designs like Redeemer to have better stamina
              • Added ImNotLaffng's Pizza Roll 9000 ship to bounty mode
              • Several days of trying to get weapons to work just to get dunked on by emitter bs

              fixed emitter issues (finally) should be able to get the fist couple of the new weapons done sometime next week!

              If anyone has some ships they think are up to snuff and want to see if they make it into the mod feel free to post them!

                I'll start making a few ships soon if possible, but I haven't played the game in a long time. I started back using this mod to help get back into building strong ships. It has helped me a great amount so far. I'll eventually start making ship designs to see if they past the tests. Also great mod btw.
