Atarlost we will have to agree to disagree on the subject of kites. While i see the point you are trying to make, kiting is just the natural design course most players will take in the mod and in general. Though few ships in the mod qualify as kites, since kites have far more reverse thrust than in any other direction and most of the "kites" have equal thrust along all vectors meaning they are just ships that prioritize mobility. The only true kite in the roster that I know of is Kintaro.

Perhaps, but I was trying to make it very cheap. Also, missiles are expensive and not quickly chosen as main weapon in this tier. if it doesn't pass, I'll try your idea.

Frontier!
A 8.5M credit ship made for withstanding and absorbing damage while hammering the enemy with equal or more fire power!
Tidal Wave!
A 8M credit ship that is a bit on the fragile side but makes up for it's speed and firepower hosting 16 standard cannons,16 large cannons and 64 missile launchers!
overall pretty happy with the Frontier but i got mixed feelings for the Tidal Wave due to it being fairly fragile,i see the tidal wave as a large support for the monstrosity and the frontier most of the time since it ain't really capable of surviving a massive cannon alpha strike especially missiles,but still a good build.(Still wondering if trading a lot of defence is worth it for 64 missile launchers...the limitations of vanilla.)
Northerner The nice thing about small ships, is that they are quickly made. This one is not as good as Laser Buddy, but stands it's ground.

Northerner How is the reparation of your computer going?
Alpha I have the parts I need to repair my PC but I'm trying to transfer my OS to my new SSD and haven't had much success yet and i REALLY don't want to buy a new OS. When I can get that done I can resume working on the mod.

Kites are a lot less powerful with the Ring of Death. Delay of game tactics in general (which also includes the ridiculous armor on some ships) are far too powerful in the hands of an AI with unlimited patience.

I can't dictate what you put in your mod, but adding forward thrust to a kite doesn't make it not a kite. By your definition you don't have and never will have a kite problem because as soon as the player gets fed up with it taking freaking forever to move between ships in a system and ups their forward thrust their kite stops being a kite. Anything with lots of reverse thrust for its weight and no short range weapons is a kite even if it has as much or more forward thrust.
