Fulminis I actually made a larger Cerberus and it was not very good. It was too slow and too vulnerable. The only good part about it was the missile section I made for it which I used in a different ship that can defeat the Cerberus

      Subby84 So, I tested your Manta against my best ship. It did not last long. There are two reasons for this, your Manta is very squishy, and my ship was faster than yours. Because of this all of my guns were able to hit your ship and even my missiles did damage. Not only that but my ship only took 12,000 worth of damage to it. If I was you I would do some redesigns and come up with a Mk II and keep improving it till it is unbeatable. I know that is what I will keep doing

      Subby84 Love the shape! Though it exploded when I destroyed a missile launcher. You don't really need that much reactors for the missile factories. Also put armor between the missile launchers and they won't all explode. My suggestion would be to mount cannons in front and move the missile to the sides. Side missiles are much more dangerous. Also shields. Hope to see you continue with this design 🙂

      culanns_hound He was bragging on the speed of his ship and i must say that very few ships can go that fast (it has a lot of thrusters i guess) so this is just a mega glass cannon so of course its very squishy
      Also a MK II wouldn't be enough. A complete overhaul of ship design would be easier with missiles launching out of the sides

      The Efficient Missile Setup MK Basic II is the most efficient side launching missile setup I have found, and its compartmentalized with its own PD and Shields. Its also in the Community Ships Mod under Jakeblake

      Subby84 That's not hatery.. anyone can make a missile spam ship with a ton of reverse thrusters, and it is "kinda" a way of cheating, theres the saving feature for that... if your ship is destroyed you can do back the save and change it, do upgrade, go to another sector etc.. and you can sell your ship parts to full FTL fuel incase you managed to get stuck, no need to missile spam because doing that you will never learn how to make a real efficient ship that can survive any enemy.

      Taorec Thanks for your suggestions and appreciation, i'll work on it, also idk if you noticed but i'm also testing on crew gesture, ikr that there are too much core, but this is because every missile launcher have his own factory, own reactor, and own crew divided from all the others to get them working separatedly on each launcher. I noticed while in fight that crew often do travel from one part to the other of an open ship while they could make a quarter of the way to be more efficient, therefore i separated evrything to get more efficiency on fire rate

        Fulminis Ok, you got one point as you looked at it and noticed that it have a ton of reverse thrusters and spams missiles, but the kinda cheating doesn't fit well as i'm not using any mods but only original game fisics on this ship. So let's ask ourselves some logical questions : 1.What is the main goal in the game ? To win, as every other game that exists. 2. Does this ship cheat ? No as it uses only original game fisics 3. How do we want to win ? With minimal credit loss to get enough to go on in case of defeat or to pay for ftl fuel if needed. 4. Does this ship allow you to win against any AI built-in-game enemy ? Yes if you manage it well. 5. Does this ship is unbeatable ? No as AI don't manage fire range like a player do. 6. Can any AI controlled ship be unbeatable ? Absolutely impossible, as players just manages ships more better than actual AI. So in conclusion we can either ask the great Walt to focus on AI develloping or much better, wait for multiplayer to be available, this will totally change the game to AI fight to skill fight, so even there the same ship used by a nerd or by a newbie could win or loss against the same enemy Therefore we can definitively say that there isn't and will never exist any unbeatable ship... Finally, i'd like you to understand this thread was to share with this comunity the best way i found to easy win into bounty hunter campaign against vanguards level enemies, i clearly never bragged this ship was unbeatable or that it's the best ship of all creations shared over here. Please just be more friendly to new users that are sharing theyr tries over here...

          Jakeblake the Manta missile destroyer cost is around 2'400'000. Never bragged out this ship is unbeatable or faster than any other one, what i "bragged" is that this ship can win against AI controlled Cerberus if used well, please refer to my last answer to Fulminis if you want a more detailed explanation.

          Jakeblake Well, his ship is pretty quick, but not quick enough since the one I tested it with was probably twice the weight

              Jakeblake Yeah it's kind of a money black hole, this because of the mass of power cores i putted in.

              This detail shows that each missile launcher have a proper power core, missile factory & crew separated from each other, this because i'm also testing on crew movements.
              You surely noticed that crew'AI tend to travel through the whole ship if it's free access, instead of working on the nearest needing system.
              Some tests showed me that limiting crew movement also push up the fire rate, and this would work on every armament i believe.
              We shall test it deeper because improved rate of fire means better ship overall.
              EDIT: this is still the first manta i posted here, that i need to modify a little to avoid the chain explosion of the actual configuration

                Subby84 It seems that you are really intent on using from facing missiles with no shields side facing is much better and easier to protect and allows for more weapons
                A layer of armor between each compartment should do the trick to stop the chain reaction.
                If you read my post (that I linked in another reply) I go really deep into missile setup efficiency which is obviously what your doing with this ship.

                Though I prefer Jakeblake's setup minus the command module ftl drive.
                I actually named this ship Missiles seem bad. If the enemy ship has point defense missiles seem under powered.

                  Also your boat head is not that good you only have missiles as a weapon but you do have good shield coverage all round
