The voice comes from the entrance hall of the Mortuary, and the guard is standing up, drawing his sword.

Dr Earhart jumps about a foot in the air.
"Ach Verdammt... I must be going, nice to see you."
He turns and runs down the corridor, his assistant following him, their white coats trailing in their wake, the guard then seems to see the others for the first time.

Silence descends upon the breakfast table as Jasper turns back to his paper, after the Ambassador has finished, Berthold appears and cleans away the plates, leaving Sophia's bowl as she is still poking unenthusiastically at the contents with her spoon. Hermione notices this.
"Eat your porridge Sophia there's a good girl"
"Don't like it."
Jasper peers over his glasses.
"Of course you do, and it's good for you. You can't get down until you finish eating."
He stands up, walking over to the Ambassador.
"Well then old man, I think the cab should be here soon, I'm going to come down to the town with you, I have some business to attend to, let's be going what?"
