STE Transmission-09281

The station is of a quite large size.
the only lighting visible seems to be red-Emergency lights.
suggesting the station is on lockdown, Alert, or self destruct.
although the latter seems unlikeley.
as the two pods approach, movement is detected on the exterior.
a few moments later, the source is pinpointed:
A Defensive Turret!
A single shot from it would shred the pods, let alone the other ships.
however, just as the weapon's energy signature skyrockets:
it detonates, presumably a shell explosion.
this seemingly was the only turret on that side.
as for boarding:
Hangar route:
certainly defended, likley manned also
meaning sure resistance if you choose to go that way.
the hole caused by the turret
Likeley less defended, but people would notice
you immidiately due to it's proximity to some living quarters.
making your own entry point
The stealthiest way for sure, just get a lazer cutter and you are in.
without noise or being spotted easily
however could depressurise the station even more than it is.
so really the center living quarters would be the only viable boarding point via lazer cutter.
and as far as the transmission goes, it has stayed the same for a while now.
and the marking at the end of the last one suggests the writer was unable to finish writing.
However before any of that, the pods clearly spot some life pods floating around...
scans reveal them to be full.

Science:Left
Transmission Array:Right
its quite clear something has internaly damaged the transmitter to cause the corrupted images
as the externals seem fine

Forgot to mention: In each pod there are 2 units(robots): 1 Defensive class XR-R unit(humanoid type), with a shield, similar to those plcaed on ships and heavy armor(no weapons). It has 2 legs as movement parts and 2 manipulators as arms
1 Research class XR-R unit(humanoid type) with a scanner and a radar and a little to no armor. it has 2 legs as movement parts and 2 manipulators as hands.

Research pods fly to the hangar and try to land here.

Pods:
The Hangar is a mess
a STE ship seemingly docked earlier
but is now smashing around the hangar, with the docking clamp detached.
This would be bad, but is predictable enough to avoid.
however having passed the ship the reason behind the ship's clamps detonating becomes clear.
a croud of Tau's lay dead or dying on the ground, while a few Biohazard units walk over the corpses.
shooting any that move.
the Tau's seem to be right next to the landing pad the ship was docked to, indicated by the scorch mark on the floor where it detonated.
Within a moment, one Troop notices the pods, and begins firing at it.
from the fact their helmets have no Tau-Fitting mods, they are clearly human.
and no Humans exist in the STE...
the pod of course takes little damage, and would be able to land sucessfully, albeit with resistance.
Corvette and Transport:
the pods have no antenna but flying close enough reveals they have live inhabitants.
although they are almost certainly going to die without help,
however they could spread the parasite to anything alive (for all anyone knows)
the escape pods are small enough to fit inside even small ships. (the equivilant size of a 2x2 crew quarter)
there are 12 in total, 3 are empty though, leaving 9 inhabited
Research Ship:
Scanning the ship reveals quite a bit.
It is a MK1-921 Star port
scaled down interior revealed by scans. although is unable to view personell locations
due to the high number of inteferances, there is no way of pinpointing the Scientist who sent the message's location.
Although they are likeley in the Research Wing. (left)
sadly, some kind of electronic interferance is blocking scans.
it origionates from the transmitter array
Importantly, the oxygen supply is low, cutting straight into the research wing would kill everything.
and likely cause the container housing the old strain to rupture, "failing" immidiately.
(also nice use of Hex!)
DarkPearl
The ship is greeted with the same sight as for the others,
a dark station, lit only by emergency lights.
although lucky for them, now no defense turrets remain.
allowing for easy approach
the Akira also notices the life-pods of course.
should the ship choose to go to the hangar, the commotion caused by the two pods
should buy them time to land alongside them.

Transport ship starts collecting life pods. they seem to fit well inside it. The Alpha Corvette points it's weapons at the Zankaran Empire Ship, awaiting for the answers.

Pods:
the troops shout various Swear words at the pods and continue firing at them.
one shouts: "FOR GRAHAM!"
Corvette and Transport ship:
the pods use a external release function.
designed to keep inhabitants from opening the doors accidentally.
no wonder why they are nicknamed cages by the admiralty...
this means the inhabitants are stuck inside.
however the pods begin to vent air between them.
therefore meaning they will continue to be oxygenated.
DarkPearl
at the sight of the soldiers,
the troops stop shooting the pods and run to through the doorway.
some shots barely miss them, their hostility clear to see.
one oddity noticed by the soldiers (being closer than the pods) was a farmiliar logo on their sholder armour:
I S C
Pods:
Defense and research units(I already stated how they look) try to move further into the station, leaving the pods behind. not chasing the troops, and ignoring the soldiers.
Transport ship
After collecting all the pods inside the ship, robots inside the transport ship try to open the pods.

Defence and Research units:
the station is littered with dead and dying STE personell.
scanning reveals heavy internal bleeding of the heart and lungs.
the parasite is able to disquise itself very well.
and appears as little more than nothing on scans.
scans show death in 1-2 days.
many of them cry for help, or simply to be killed.
some react agressively, but most are in no state to get up and fight.
it appears the ISC biohazard squad have fled.
the main corridor down to the central hub is relatively clean.
down at the end of the corridor,
a blast door slams shut.
all rooms to the left and right are locked shut.
some however are open,
revealing small holdouts of Tau's.
mainly engineers.
it is likeley they too are searching for the scientist.
and could be responsible for the destruction of the defence turret.
Transport Ship
the pods hiss as they open.
leaving the inhabitants to gasp for somewhat less recycled air.
they are bleeding from their mouths, as the scientist said they would.
some seem to be dead already.
suggesting they where out there for quite some time.
none are in any state to talk.
talking would likeley cause the blood to drown them quicker.
and so most stay quiet.
although some plead for their lives.
without a cure or reversal, there is no way of saving them.
however this presents a perfect opportunity to scan for how the parasite spreads
due to it being classified in the database
(late here aswell, so im going to hold off on posting more until tommorow)
Jenwuf ((I don't think soldiers would just let some unknown robots walk in... so continuing it without @DarkPearl isn't the best idea.))
