Musavian Interstellar Space Effort / Galactic Lihr and Mhertz Conjoined Faction
Each a faction’s size in its own right, multiple united. These two pieces in the complex interlocking puzzle of politics, unbeknownst to the rest of the galaxy, are actually one and the same. The Space Faction that the Musavian lizards have raised from a single planet to a large galactic presence is a slumbering titan that takes its strides in measured steps.
Musavians
Their body's covered in very small green and black scales, sometimes covered with natural excretions from their body, which moisturize their scaly skin and decrease the chances of problems due to the weather. These bodily excretions are produced by glands located just below the skin layer that connects the scales, and their secretions are done from underneath the scales. Just underneath the layer of scales is a thin layer of fat, used for body temperature regulation, and for energetic storages.
Their hands have 5 fingers accompanied by claw-like “nails”, the opposing thumbs helping them in the usage of tools. Although their body grants more mobility and is generally able to bend more than the galactic standard of comparison “Human”, their strength is roughly equal to that of one.
Evolved in a planet with most of its surface covered with water, they have prowess in dealing with aquatic environments, both in the evolutionary sense and in the civilization sense.
They usually live from 100-120 Terran Years, in the aging process, their appearance slowly starts fading and the once vibrant orange and black turns into their grey-is They carry around two degenerate body parts, one is the horn-like protuberances on their heads made out of a particular overgrown bone within the head, though with a different composition which grants it higher rigidness and weather resistance than normal. The other are orange and black fins located throughout the body, mostly around the back and close to the hands, on the forearms. It is believed that these fins are heritage from their early development stages, somehow surviving until now.
The thermal regulating gland is a specialty for the Musavians. Located as an accessory organ to the kidneys, all the blood passes there after filtration in the kidneys for an added filtration step. However, this step also warms the blood up, which then distributes the heat around the whole body. This heat is enough to stop a great majority of fungal infections from being a problem, however, it is considerably lower than that of mammals.
It is important to note that, due to them not being mammals, they do not possess any kind of hair and mammaries. In fact, the female Musavian body differs very little from the male body, with only slight differences in appearance. Furthermore, their lizard origin allows for the regeneration of certain lost members, those being the horns, fingers and toes, small cuts and lost scales, lost tails, and the occasional but rare regeneration of organs.
The reproduction of the Musavian people is sexual in nature, with the combination of the progenitor couple’s genes to form the child’s one, in a process almost equal to that of humans. However, instead of a completely internal gestation of the offspring as is the case of mammals, the Musavian females will produce and lay an egg after three months. This egg will remain laid and self-regulating over the course of another 3 months, whence the offspring will hatch.
They hatch with a similar size to a fully-grown Tegu, and will remain walking on four legs until 2 months into their development, when they start slowly adapting to a biped style of walking, in this phase, their limbs will grow much more than the rest of their body, and their physiology changes so that the neck will sit the head oriented on 90º rather than completely straight, like on most lizards. After this period of over, naturally, they’d be able to survive on their own. However, they now integrate into their tribe, which in this case is their family. Childhood for Musavians ends after 7 years, after which they start their puberty phase, which lasts 5 years and sees the majority of the physical growth, and the development of their reproductive organs. Thus, at 15 years, a Musavian is considered, biologically, an Adult.
Gel People
The recently-produced Gel people have an intricate biology of their own. The exterior skin is formed of highly congealed and hardened Gel matter, forming a kind of skin that can flake off the body and eventually evaporate to the environment due to its high liquid content.
The internals are most composed of a homeostatic liquid that functions like the interior of a tree, with each of the cells of the Gel person communicating directly or through tubes of somewhat congealed yet transparent Gel cells, making them able to transmit liquids and chemical energy through their body.
Though they lack most organs that people would recognize, there are certain functions that are similar to their bodies. Their digestive system is composed of a number of specialized Gel cells along their throat, which drag the food down to the center of the being, often appearing as if the digested piece is “Floating” within their body.
Their skeleton system is changed, instead of single high-durability strands of material like humans show, the Gel people have numerous high-resistance strands of Gel Cells that naturally align themselves like a carbon nanotube below the surface of their skin, conferring resistance to their surface body layers as well as serving as a structural integrity system.
These same kinds of strands can be found within the interior parts of the body, branching out like a tree of segments. However, these specific filaments will run through their bodies and into their heads, where a vast majority of these transparent tubes can be found layered within each other like a coil, forming a kind of central nervous system.
Reproduction of Gel people is a complicated topic. Normally, they are able to sexually reproduce normally between themselves, where a gel offspring will be generated within and slowly accumulate down at the belly level, being born as it is pushed away from the mother through a temporary semi-permeable barrier which closes quickly, preventing death by bleeding. Gestation time of the Gel people vary between 5 to 8 months, depending on the body mass of the mothering organism and its diet.
Originally, though unbeknownst to all, the Gel people were able to reproduce through Mitosis. A collective of MISE and GL&M quickly erased such a process from their genetics, as it could quickly develop into an immense health crisis, amongst others.
Humans
Some humans have migrated over to the territory of the MISE, or been employed by the GL&M Megacorporation. There is no need to explain Human anatomy.
They are treated like citizens and given the same basic rights and duties as other beings within the MISE after they have been accepted into the nation, and though some of the more conservative parcels of the Musavians might not be too keen on humans, the general consensus is that of cooperation.
Replicants
Manufactured beings made completely of synthetic material and inherited from the Yutera Megacorporation, the Replicants are often the ones that do the dirty work for the MISE and for GL&M.
Physically, they are built like war machines, the extremely effective and dense biomechanical musculature of them grants them superhuman strength without the necessity of any kind of mechanical aid, their positronic brains are able to calculate vectors, trajectories and probabilities much faster, with virtually instant reaction times to changes to the environment.
The skin is a reinforced carbon fiber alloy laid with sensors, with a subdermal layer of metallic hydrogen and aerogel. making it highly heat and bullet resistant. As an added bonus, it allows them to resist the vacuum of space or higher pressures without a problem.
Inside the older models, a miniaturized fusion reactor was placed to supply power, however in the most modern models run on a high capacity crymnant-based battery. Due to the fact that they only need energy to run themselves, they don’t need to breathe or eat.
The M.I.S.E is the part that represents the whole of the Musavians is space and space-related affairs, the leaders of them are elected by the citizens of the whole world, or whatever populace composes the colony. For the countries in Musavi or the colonies, they have different ministries which present projects for the populace to approve or decline by direct democratic vote, having a minimum they must meet in different sectors such as “Education” and “Healthcare”, very rarely is a president elected, most diplomatic efforts made by the ministry of diplomacy, though if needed, Musavians will elect a temporary president to work as a representative.
-How it is Run:Ministries control the different sectors of state business, presenting projects for the electronic direct voting by the populace. MISE leaders decide between them, and get their decisions voted by their own board, and other nation’s rulers.
-Main Ruler/s:Occasionally a president is elected by the Musavians, most of the time, they’d be represented by their nation’s ministries of Diplomacy, or by the MISE’s “Diplomat”.
-Figures of Power:The MISE itself has figures of power elected to direct their progression on space-based tech, or other space-related business, each with their own elected team of helpers, though the leaders are elected by the process detailed earlier.
Diplomat: Takes care of diplomacy-related business with alien species and factions;
Physicist: Takes care of tracing the FTL routes, protecting systems against asteroid collisions, and research related to physics and FTL technology.
Engineer: Takes care of space-bound or related construction, with the help of his team the engineer is tasked with designing the most effective types of ships and materials possible.
Biologist: Is tasked with taking care of biology-related business, which includes but is not limited to: Space crop growing, defense against alien bacteria and viruses, development of biological weaponry, etc.
Economist: Cooperates heavily with the nation’s leaders to keep a stable internal economy in the face of great alien economical potencies, often presents votes for the board as to which alien tech they should research, always trying to avoid economical bubbles or breakdowns.
General: The toughest nut to crack in the bunch, the General is the one that plans for all weaponry, system defenses, attack and defense plans in the case of nations attacking the Musavians, often works together with the other members of the board for the development of new and innovative weaponry and defensive technology.
However, the leadership of the Musavians is also split into the Board of Directors of the GL&M, which commands the Megacorporation’s decisions. GL&M is controlled by a board of directors, each of which hold a major share of the company, be it, more than 2%. They are then allowed to partake in highly secretive meetings about the future of the company. The names and identities of many of large shareholders are unknown. However, a few have been revealed to be of the Board of Directors:
The Economist;
The Engineer (Ghern, Head Engineer of SORB);
Lihr and Mhertz (Original owners of GL&M).
From there downwards, each of the operating branches of GL&M has a group that leads its development and further research into the field, being supervised by the board of directors and its moderators. The extremely large scope of the company means that there are too few directors to take control of all of the branches, hence, the moderation team. The known members of the Moderation Team are:
Nehetomep (Head of Contractuation Work)
Downwards, each of the branch is subdivided into research, development and production, with logistics and advertising being left to their own separate divisions directly connected to the larger branch.
The MISE is an Electronic Indirect Democracy, where the representatives are elected through the majority vote from the people that said representatives will represent, without any influence from exterior states or donations allowed for the campaign of the representatives, which is done in a way to mask the identity of the one being elected.
Then, the ministries themselves work amongst themselves to elect a ministry representative which encompasses the guidelines of all the integrant members, this unknown representative will lead the ministry and establish cooperation and connection between every other ministry of the MISE.
The MISE state is controlled by the many ministries, which offset each other in political power whilst managing the direction that the MISE takes. This system only truly worked for the first few decades of the MISE’s existence, as the heads of the ministries cooperated to quickly enact a majority control of the ministries, taking advantage of the political system and settling as an inner group that manages most of the MISE.
This same inner group is found as the Board Of Directors of the GL&M Megacorporation, which united make the decisions that the facet company must take in order to better translate the MISE’s wishes through the facet of the megacorporation, which exempts the nation of any kind of direct blame if things were to become desperate, and allows for more discrete operations, making the MISE a subversive powerhouse.
Each of the ministries of the MISE relay their orders to local government officials, which represent the ministries’ will through the house of ministries, often the centerpiece of the Musavian settlement. These often are large administrative buildings which work to uphold the Musavian laws and maintain order and compliance to the MISE within the local region. This house also serves as the local judiciary system, where any criminals shall be judged for law violations, however, any non-MISE citizens may only be processed within Musavi if they commit heinous crimes.
The local elections, contrary to the elections for the Ministry, aren’t secretive, and they can either be by electronic voting or by paper voting, though the former is much more advised. Like the Ministry elections, these can only be taken after the citizens have read through the proposal of all the main runners, making sure that their choice is the most aligned with their ideologies and hopes, majorly preventing populist elections.
GL&M and MISE base themselves on a Toyotist-like production style that prioritizes the interconnectivity of the production chains, with the ease of the production and engineering design, which automatically enhances the construction and output of products. This production style is a combination of lean/toyotist production, and the interconnectivity of modern BIM programs.
Modularity
MISE designs are mostly modular, and meant to stack upon each other in a way that improves the end product better than the sum of its parts, additionally, modules must always be designed and produced in a way that enhances the value of the end product, whatever it may be. Modular designs are made with the following principles in mind:
Ease of Production: A modular design must have the least amount of operations involved in its development process, from the extraction of the source material to the last assembly of it. With that in mind, simple designs are prioritized, with complexity being added in a way that only adds value to the end product. For example, the construction of Y beams are made from two folded sheets of metal rather than cut up welded pieces, which saves time and money, making the production line faster and mode dynamic, without sacrificing the product’s quality.
Ease of Adaptability: The design’s simplicity must have the eventual change of its design and the line of production in mind, as well as possible changes in the field. As such, it must have understandable internals and workings, with parts that are most prone to change most accessible for maintenance work or change work. For example, a LED lamp will have the LED device and the reflectors as the most easily adaptable parts of the design, whilst the shape of the lamp itself will hardly change, thus the plastic casts needn’t be as adaptable.
Interconnectivity and Information Modelling: Every design, machine, and operator inserted in the process of producing an end-goal must be interconnected in the process, so as to form a logical cohesive chain with real-time response to its demand, lack thereof, or changes within. To achieve that, every design must have value inputted into it, with each of its components having a precise description and connections to its production line and its end-goal. With that, a small change of a cog in an enormous machine will automatically point out all the processes in the chain of production that must be updated, with the large modularity of the design principles, these changes can happen with extreme haste, instead of needing to create new, dedicated machines to unique designs.
The I.P.D (Interconnected Productivity Database)
The IPD was originally a BIM-based construction software which integrated all steps of a construction process into one cohesive chronological order, automatically calculating everything from employee cell assignments (An employee cell is a small group of employees that must know everything of what they are assigned to make, becoming temporary specialists in the execution of their particular niche) to refined cost diagrams.
However, with the advancement of the GL&M into other areas and their expanding influence over the Musavian market, the IPD was expanded, reworked, and ported over to production lines as a whole, adapting itself to the new modular paradigm and increasing the dynamics of production to another level with its features:
Real-time Updates and Integrated Production Dynamics: The system updates real-time with almost all of its measures: Supply, demand, availability or the lack thereof, cost of end product, time for production for each of its steps. Due to its age and abundance of information to draw from, most changes that occur in the system can be predicted, meaning that a planned change will have its outcome calculated with a certain degree of error. This aids in the decision-making process as to what changes in certain steps, from a minute change such as firing a worker, to a larger one such as rerouting logistical networks.
Jidoka-style Production and Product Quality: Jidoka is the name of a japanese production method, where a worker by himself can stop the whole production line if he realizes that there is some kind of end-product-crippling mistake in it. The IPD encompasses this philosophy within it, as all workers can access it to stop their respective lines by giving proof of a certain mistake within it that surpasses a calculated margin. This is also done automatically by machinery that evaluates the quality of the product by quick-scanning methods. With this, all modules and products leave the production lines with essentially the same quality, with little to no error or time lost to rework.
Predictable Supply-And-Demand: Certain seasons or certain projects carry with them usual costs and demands, and occur at certain intervals. Though not completely predictable, these events can be calculated within a certain error margin, supplying the whole production line with a certain quota to fulfill and predicting the production dynamics of the near future. This degree of predictability gives the GL&M an operational edge, allowing them to take calculated risks where none else would in the markets they have data in.
This system does not completely work in unpredictable markets, as it surpasses its interior margin of error and voids itself until the IPD has gathered enough information about the market to properly function in the Predictable Supply-And-Demand system.
AI-assisted Benchmarking: To aid the previous system and perpetually improve the effectiveness of Mussavian production, constant benchmarking is a necessity. The system will automatically compare its evaluation of certain employees, production lines, extraction facilities, logistics, etc. And try to integrate them in different ways to maximize the efficiency of all of what the IPD influences.
This process gets both more effective and more difficult as the database expands and the system gathers more information about every minute detail of what it influences, requiring an ever-increasing processing capacity to suffice with its demands.
It is important to add, as a footnote to this section, that this is NOT a Sentient AI, and simply a learning mesh algorithm with finely tuned and calculated directives.
The IPD software is available to GL&M, however, it is also used internally by the MISE government to plan large-scale production, and keep track and efficiency of government industries. The large-scale production style allows them to supply most citizens’ demands to their basic rights, if not even some luxuries whenever possible.
Production Philosophy Impacts
This whole arrangement used by Musavian society as a whole has deep impacts in the different markets, from civilian-usage items to the most top-grade military equipment, they all suffer or gain in some way.
Civilian Markets
Civilians are arguably those who enjoy the production philosophy the most. Market costs for most products are very low due to the mass-productive style of them, and the dynamic nature of the production lines guarantees that the demand of the public is met.
However, artesanal and other un-automatable products have prices gauged up.
Construction Market
The advances of modularity and the integration of the IPD software creates a new paradigm in the construction market, as it was developed initially for the construction market.
With the IPD and the modern construction philosophies, many costs are avoided and the workplace is made dynamic, modularity and palletization of the materials ensures a consistent workflow which adds value to the end product with little to no setbacks in rework, awaiting times, poor quality and other constructive sins.
Advancements in technology have also bolstered the constructive industries, with modern material options such as Biocarbon Concrete allowing for structures of unprecedented size without any of the usual pathologies of material properties, such as thermal dilations, carbonization of steel structure and concrete, microfissures, etc.
The extreme modularity has allowed for a shortening of the construction site’s evolution from months to weeks, as the assembly of the site has been reduced from an artesanal work to an industrial assembly process with each worker a part of a coherent and logical production line, making GL&M’s logical constructive capability unparalleled in the galaxy.
To aid the development of construction sites, the usage of drones is commonplace. Using the IPD in a shared, online BIM-like environment for thorough coordination, they can perform tasks that the most skilled workers would take days, in mere minutes. Their unparalleled mobility and ability to tow relatively heavy equipment to hard-to-reach places makes them invaluable to the construction process.
Research and Development
The scientific method figures as both the most lucrative and the most costly of the production process, since it does not fit into the modular paradigm, and thus, requires actual reworks and changes to the production lines whenever a new invention or improvement is achieved. These reworks pay themselves eventually, but prove a challenge nonetheless.
Laboratory equipment has its cost reduced as well, as such, it allows for easier testing on common practices of science. However, high-end applications suffer from their most refined need for top-notch, unprecedented and non-modular equipment, which would be a problem if the company itself didn't provide such equipment.
Security
The security markets benefit greatly from the modular lean paradigm, as the cost of equipment goes down tremendously, allowing squadrons and security task forces to employ their full range of capabilities without worry.
Furthermore, vehicles in their varied form also have their cost reducing, leading to a highly mechanized force with great operational dynamic capability.
The usage of drones within the mechanized forces is also common, as the security drones differ only slightly from the generic drone template, yet are able to perform valuable scouting and tactical deployment tasks, aiding the security task forces in protecting the valuable assets of the company.
There is no defined social structure in the Musavian Interstellar Space Effort, however, there are differences between the citizens, mostly concerned about their wealth, as they range from lower, medium, and high class.
At the lower class substrates, the government will provide you with enough aid and basic living rights for an honourable life or being able to work, sustain oneself, enjoy the pleasures of life such as entertainment and whatnot, and basic healthcare and education.
A MISE citizen of the lowest economical class will have a reasonable life of struggle, though they will likely not fall to absolute misery, they won’t be able to indulge in all that they desire, and will certainly have to work manual jobs, being more susceptible to take on a job in less desirable industries, including falling into illegal acts such as drug dealing, drug consumption, robbery, and others.
For these citizens which have a liquid profit margin too low to maintain themselves, the government offers programs where they can work and study for food, housing, and specialized education, to reintroduce them to Musavian society.
The medium class sees themselves much better off, and within it is concentrated the majority of the Musavian populace. Most are technicians and other formed professionals which can work in the various industries of the MISE, such as GL&M. They are the backbone that keep the MISE and GL&M moving, supplying most of the important working class.
The middle class ranges a bit, whilst the lower middle class will definitely enjoy a fair share of vacations, luxury products, affordable and comfortable living, they will do such at a much lower pace than the high medium class, which is usually reserved to high-paying yet common jobs, such as medics, doctors of varied areas, engineers, and highly skilled managers for production sites.
The high class is reserved for the few, which almost all are big players of the stock market, or CEOs of companies. The jobs of these people have a direct impact on the MISE economy, be it a small or large impact. They will enjoy the almost fullest extent of the luxuries of the MISE and GL&M, as they have the money to spare to do such actions.
However, despite the wealth of the CEOs and other big names, they still are not completely the top-most class of the GL&M or the MISE. Said individuals are treated in the leadership section.
The majority of the people of the MISE are atheist in religious beliefs, and tend to a more cynical view of reality itself. They are motivated by the advancements of civilization that bring them closer to a practical utopia where living beings can enjoy life to the fullest, however, they are also aware that such an objective is inherently a folly and it will never be accomplished.
The majority of the population is progressive, granting a wide acceptance to the modifications of their bodies whenever they wish, self-identification be it through genders or pronouns or different sexual preferences.
Racism or other kinds of cultural hatred amongst Musavians is rarely found as such a mindset is popularly reprimanded. Conservatives within the Musavian society tend to have the most racist mindsets against the contemporary status quo of society, with the large corporate presence over daily life, and the constant interaction with other galactic powers.
Because of their egg-laying nature as lizards, Musavians don’t form great bonds of family with their offspring. Naturally, they’d defend their nest until their offspring grew up to a survivable size, where they could take care of themselves, and thus, it became unnecessary to handle their offspring for prolonged times. However, this new member would generally integrate within the same tribe or hunter-gatherers of the coastline as their progenitors, which modernly would form the smallest social cell of the “family”. Because of this evolutionary culture, the family bonds between the parents and offspring are rarely the same as a human’s.
The contemporary age saw the integration of various other species as they immigrated to the MISE seeking the stability and prosperity that it offered after the Delta attacks. Whilst the government accepted most of them with relatively open arms and a few restrictions due to the possibility of espionage or biobombing, the Musavians saw some difficulty to adapt to the inflow of new citizens. This added to the production run of 1 billion slime people raised concerns of the Musavian populace, and saw the rise in conservativism.
In response, the MISE enacted a few conscientization countermeasures, made many of the immigrants official citizens, and sought to expand the basic living rights of citizens. Now, the radicalization of the MISE populace is on a decline.
Pre-historic era:Having evolved from water-based creatures, then to amphibious, then to land-based creatures, these Lizard-like people started cooperating and forming tribes, at the start, the two great continents were connected by a thin land bridge, after they predominated on both of the continents, a large volcanic eruption sunk the bridge, isolating the species for the following years.
Age of the Great Tribes:Especifically, on the left continent, the three tribes of Raf’thum, Ghrafnat and Guthrak, Guthrak being formed from a split-off from Ghrafnat after internal conflicts, and eventually conquering the continent, by assimilating it’s older tribe, and killing the Raf’thum, that ran away to the mountains and slowly died to the environment.
And on the right continent, the Thremavi and the Mus’shak. Eventually, these two tribes united, and formed the kingdom of Mus’avi.
Age of navigations/Age of Empires:Although navigation was always done by both the Empire of Mus’avi and the Ghrafnat, this was the age that both discovered the existence of each other, and started trading operations, in this period, both the empires broke into different kingdoms, but the original empires were still the predominating power within each of its continents. This is when the denomination of the world as “Musavi” came to be, due to the commercial influence of the people of Mus’avi, and how they referred to their home country by the same name, eventually mixing up, through the ages, and becoming the generalized term to refer to the planet they inhabited.
Age of Steel:With the industrialization of the countries that populated Musavi, the tug of war for the economical hegemony became stronger, culminating in a world-war that lasted 100 years, in which the Musavians went from steam-based machinery, and culminated in the nuclear bombardment of Ghrafnat, making them yield and ending the war. However, the destruction between Musavi (the country) and Ghrafnat made both economically weak, granting leeway for the other countries to develop, in such a way that there were no more hegemonical powers.
Age of Unity: The promise of mutual nuclear destruction generated fear but also granted a situation of stability in Musavi, in such ages, multiple wonders of technology were achieved, slowly transforming the objectives of the Musavians from conquering the next country to cooperate to achieve more wonders of technology, by this point, they already had great achievements such as complex water-based infrastructure and great engineering feats of deep-ocean building, but the apex of their achievement was the construction of S.O.R.B, a cooperation of multiple countries, a statement to their engineering genius.
Age of M.I.S.E: Now, the Musavian countries unite once again and look outwards into the skies, with the recent advancements in rocketry and material sciences, they can finally explore outwards of their planet, they started by sending satellites and connecting the world in an interconnected internet-like web, and eventually even established a station on the moon of Musavi.
The Illateri quickly noticed the existence of the Musavians on their planet, and lifted their technology to galactic standards. After this, the curious entity named “Tyranus” struck their planet with a giant mass of energy-absorbing flora. This age saw the development of the well-known yet secretive technology of Hyperatomics, in its earliest and most basic form, as well as the first colonization of other planets by the MISE.
Age of the Rectifying: Tyranus’ giant green ball activated, and ushered in the evacuation of Musavi, a plan that had been in development for the years that it festered in the energy of the Musavian planet’s core. This evacuation saw the erasure of the data of a great portion of Musavian populace through the weird effects that the green ball provoked in the planet itself, a problem that would never be fixed. However, the political elite took the opportunity to acquire a foothold on the Musavian Ministries, making them the unnamed governance of the nation.
After such an event, megacorporations saw a rise in their value as they covered the grounds of recuperating the effects of the evacuation, predominantly, the GL&M megacorporation took a strong foothold in informations technology, as well as construction and ship production, areas that were in high demand at the time.
The Great Corporate Merger: Assisted by the political elite of MISE, GL&M saw the opportunity to merge and absorb a nearby megacorporation the size of their nation, through blackmailing and other insidious methods, they managed to deconstruct most of the leadership of the Yutera Megacorporation and rebrand it as the GL&M Megacorporation, whose board of Directors is secretly composed of a portion of the MISE’s political elite, making GL&M a facet that the MISE uses to interact through. With the acquisition of Yutera, GL&M was now the size of the MISE and had a plethora of resources, with its newfound powers, it helped the MISE expand and grow in power and size, and aided them in handling the repercussions of the loss of the planet of Damadafu, which marked the end of the Corporate Merger era.
Age of Repairs: With the loss of Damadafu and the subsequent biobombing of the majority of the galaxy’s market, the MISE was one of the few places that still had stability. As such, they could enjoy their position as they supplied labor and materials for the repairs of many of the destroyed nations passively. This time saw great economical and population growth through immigration, though it was a time of tension as the Delta threat slowly disappeared and left in their wake a mysterious supernatural phenomena. Through this age the MISE would gain most of its territory and capabilities as it could profit and grow off the destruction that the Deltas had caused to the galaxy.
Age of Stability (Today): With the founding of The Embassy and the return of the powers that were decimated by the Deltas, the age of Stability sees the conclusion of two of the MISE and GL&M’s most ambitious projects, the Black Hole Generator and the Great Future Megaship, both signs of the extreme prosperity and stability that the MISE and GL&M enjoy currently.
Musavi System
The main system of the MISE, and thus, the most well guarded. It is a simple system of four planets, one volcanic planet in close proximity with the sun, then, the planet of Musavi and Graphnat, both in the Goldilocks zone, and a gas giant at the farthest reaches which protects the goldilocks zone from asteroid bombardments.
Musavi: A majorly blue planet with vast and beautiful oceans. Due to the severe lack of land and the beauty of its oceans, most of the land is occupied with tall and deep skyscrapers, with great expanses of unbuilt land between the major cities connected by tunnels as to preserve the natural environment. The density of the advanced cities is enormous, with vast underground complexes to compensate for the lack of building space, and even extensions that reach into the oceans, with few completely submerged cities.
It is a mostly touristic and political planet, with few advanced factories within its territory. Most of the offices are located in the mountain chains of the old Ghrafnat, providing a beautiful overlook of Musavi’s expansive oceans and marshes. The two main landmasses each possess a space elevator, which ease the logistics of the planet.
Ghrafnat: The deserty planet has most of its surface barren if not for large pillar-like structures that stick out from the underground, and its prominent two space elevators. Underneath the surface is a complex chain of industries integrated by logistic tunnels, forming one of the two Hyperatomic Planets of the MISE. Ghrafnat is highly secured and protected both underground and in space, having a double-layered station defense interception system, and several anti-orbital weaponry.
Periphery Systems
Surrounding the Musavian Systems and intersecting through them in many occasions is a conglomeration of integrated periphery systems that extend even beyond the border mining systems, passively, they listen to FTL signatures that transit between them, keeping track of major FTL movements into and out of the MISE territory. Though individual ships won’t be detected, large fleets or other large energetic presences will set off an early warning system towards Musavi.
The GL&M Starcluster
This Starcluster contains a classified amount of systems, with large system agglomerations being linked together by large highly defended precursor portals. All known forms of FTL have proven incapable of moving beyond the large agglomerations of systems, making the portals the only method of long-range FTL within the starcluster.
The GL&M Gateway and Detection Array
The gateway is a highly protected precursor artifact which grants access to the GL&M Starcluster, made stable by an irreplaceable crystal that stabilizes the portal and links it to the one on the other side. The crystal is submerged within several layers of highly classified defenses, and observation of it is absolutely forbidden to anything. Surrounding the gateway are five layers of defensive stations, as well as two fleets on constant standby, one inside the portal, and one on the outside of the portal. The region is on constant interdiction regulated not to affect the portal, preventing any FTL long-range attacks.
Surrounding the gateway are three systems which serve as a detection grid for the gateway, which detect all FTL signatures and relay them back to the gateway itself, serving as an early warning system to the gateway itself. The existence of the Detection Array is secret.
The HQ system
The Headquarters of the GL&M Megacorporation is located deep within the GL&M Starcluster, though it isn’t the center. It possesses three planets, one in the goldilocks zone, one rocky barren planet and one gas giant.
Headquarters: The GL&M Headquarters is a single monolithic building situated at the equator line of the planet it’s own, it seems to possess no space elevator, however the construction itself almost touches the upper bounds of the atmosphere, making landing atop it very easy. It is a large trapezoid with ends capped off with a pyramid, along its side are massive pillars and a plethora of vegetation and waterfalls that grow off its side.
There seem to be no other buildings within the planet, the rest of the planet is one massive, endless and dense tropical jungle with plenty of wildlife and flora. The Headquarters building extends massively underground with a series of large rooms with unknown purpose.
Hyperatomic Anvil Planet: The second Hyperatomic planet of the Musavians, this one is much the same as the other, two space elevators connect to an underground grid of integrated factories which produce half of the Musavian consumption of Hyperatomics. The planet is defended by a dual layer of defensive stations, and is always kept under high watch.
The rest of the system seems to possess no apparent defenses, though secretly there are many defensive arrays hidden throughout.
The Yutera Luxury Planet
Originally terraformed to provide a great first impression to the powers of the galaxy at the time, the Yutera Luxury Planet has since been reworked to serve as a massive tourist attraction as well as a luxurious vacation resort.
It is geared with everything the mind can foster for entertainment, endless seas of expensive drinks, swimming pools the size of lakes, resorts and sightseeing of impressive terrascaped wonders, simulators of all various kinds, and even park-like rides that vary from simple to extreme.
This planet is what Musavians dream about when they think of vacations, and as such, it is a popular Musavian tourist attraction, and though the luxury planet’s prices are on the expensive side, the enjoyment provided is worth its price.
MNSXX - X3301
A tongue-twister of a name which nobody seems to know what it actually exactly means, nor where it is located. More of a speculation and rumor between the employees of GL&M and the galactic market, this planet is known to be an extremely secretive testing, research and development ground for the forefront of technologies that GL&M deal with.
The few that have been there and have come forth about their experience seem to remember that it is a barren planet riddled with underground facilities with the highest tech equipment and supplies. However, no-one has ever supplied any proof of its existence. GL&M has publicly said that it may have been an inside joke that started between the more condecorated researchers they have on their team, and that the planet isn’t more than a space-age ghost story.
Dark Sector
The Dark Sector is a sector of the GL&M Starcluster, namely, the very center of the starcluster itself. Within it is a massive blackhole which keeps the starcluster connected, and no other stars are present within the location, leading the scientists to believe that the black hole consumed all the nearby systems, and that the FTL prevention of the starcluster is not a physical phenomena, rather, some kind of esoteric, supernatural influence.
This black hole is used for the Black Hole Generator, a series of four massive rings around the ergosphere of the Black Hole, which use its spin to generate tremendous ammounts of energy.
Wonders of the MISE/GL&M
Black Hole Generator: This Megastructure is located around the black hole in the center of the GL&M Starcluster. It is composed of four massive rings which accelerate radiation, gathering it after it has sapped the black hole’s ergosphere from its energy and thus supplying a whopping ⅘ of the energy consumption of MISE and GL&M, however not all energy is used, and thus, the generator is not run at full capacity.
One of its rings is more massive than the other, secretly, it houses one of the portals of the Quasar Sandblaster, and has the special capability to accelerate vast amounts of objects of little mass into relativistic speeds of up to 0.8 c, more than enough to cause impact fusion in whatever collision.
The Great Future: The 62 km Megaship Capital Flagship of MISE and GL&M glory and cooperation is not simply a combat ship. It has multiple functions as a mobile factory and shipyard, a massive logistics ship and hub with its own internal factory and hyperatomic anvil, being able to sustain itself and produce supplies for other MISE/GL&M facilities. Beyond that, it is also a forward operating base which seeks out new planets for mining or settling with its powerful sensors.
Hyperatomic Planet Duo: Since Hyperatomics, despite its fame, is still a state secret of the MISE, it was decided to amass all of the Hyperatomic technology in very few places. The bulk of the Hyperatomic production of the MISE and GL&M is located within the two Hyperatomic planets, one in the GL&M Headquarters System and the other in Musavi. Both of these planets are under constant surveillence, and very few are accepted to enter the planets themselves, most of them being top-grade engineers for repairs, maintenance and upkeep of the advanced integrated automatic factories underground.
Much like other important assets, the area surrounding the planet is under constant interdiction, preventing Long-range FTL strikes, and every ship transporting hyperatomic contents en masse are scouted by a small defensive flotilla.
Galactic Integrated Infrastructure Grid: To allow for GL&M to deliver products fast and easy throughout the whole galaxy, they built their own infrastructure grid. A series of 27 stations are located throughout the galaxy at the intersection points of the sectors, allowing products to transit between them in highly secure FTL ways. Each of these points is a highly defended system, serving as a safe haven for the product transports for supplies. These stations also keep track of the recent events of their surroundings and, if possible, of the quadrant’s members, giving the MISE and GL&M insight into possible future stabilities of instabilities.
The arrival times of all fleets are scheduled between the stations, and a few FTL beacons in the lines will announce the transit. If the transit is stopped and the scheduled arrival is not met, a security detachment is sent.
Military
-Overall Structure
The General of the board of the M.I.S.E approves and plots, together with his assistants (called Overseers) -which’d form the War-room of the Musavians – the defensive or offensive plans for the M.I.S.E, in space-related warfare, keeping track of the periphery systems and the constant responses of each system’s SYS-DEF force.
SYS-DEF: Soldiers trained and tasked with manning space-bound defensive measures, such as armed stations, long-range planetary artillery or space-artillery, planetary defenses, bunkers and bases, etc. Usually, they double as a kind of military police keeping order within the system, however, they are still trained for system defense and in tactics to delay the enemy’s advance waiting for the arrival of the main MISE fleet.
DRONE STRIKE-FORCE: Soldiers trained and tasked with overseeing the functioning of the drone force of the Musavians. Though the drones are mostly automated, they can profit from the tactical observation of trained soldiers, who evaluate the battlefield and other strikes on specific spots of the enemies, or repairs of higher importance assets..
DIRECT-FORCE: The Direct Force mans the mostly automatic highly modular ships of the MISE/GL&M. They will focus fire upon the higher importance targets, allowing the ships to automatically target the enemies. Their decision is on managing the modules and the spinal weapons of ships, strategically using the diverse ammunition in disposition for the MISE military, as well as evaluating the losses or gains of strategic maneuvers.
INDIRECT-FORCE: Trained and tasked to man the long-range artillery, which support the fleets in the battles by supplying a steady stream of deadly projectiles, often-times they stand nearby stars or gas clouds that’d help them to hide against the enemy’s sensory systems. Their ships are focused on high-potency spinal weaponry, and point-defense systems to prevent flanking from strike craft.
ANOMALOUS RESEARCH FORCE: This force is made of the most trained Musavian military serving their respective duties in their branches, often, they are vastly trained in ground and close-quarters combat, as their deployment is mostly seen on land and in places to gather anomalies or high-importance objects for research. They are geared with the most advanced of MISE’s military technology.
EXECUTIONARY FORCE: The Highly secretive force is made completely of Replicants armed with high-tech scrubbed off its manufacture or origin, making them completely disconnected from their MISE/GL&M manufacturer.
They are tasked mainly with single mission deployments then recyclement, often doing jobs of questionable ethics, if not plain war crimes and colluding with the black market. The phenomenal strength of replicants makes them a fearsome force on its own even if unarmed and ungeared, however, they still receive top-grade gear.
Internally, they are set to detonate themselves with a low-yield hyperatomic charge if MISE/GL&M secrets were to be leaked, such as their origin or fabrication methods in their mission.
Replicant Model 1. Art by Gose
GL&M Security Detachments are the same as the MISE military (except the anomalous research force), though with a rebranding.
Other branches of the military will be added as such is developed further.
-Fighting Doctrine/Rules of Engagement
First and foremost, conflict is to be avoided at the best of capabilities at all scales, however, whenever such is not possible, the priority is first of incapacitating the enemy rather than killing them, and if such is impossible or too dangerous for the operating unit, then killing becomes the priority.
Tactical Level: On a tactical level, the teams are mostly composed of 6 members, one medic, one combat technician, three rifleman and one commander. Each fulfill their functions, and keep track of each other in orders and supplies through a HUD in their visors, which is equipped with thermal and infrared vision as well. The equipment of each team varies according to the mission they are tasked to perform, and can range from destructive thermite launchers to non-lethal stun weaponry.
The tactics of the team is to avoid combat whenever advantageous, and try to gather advantages before necessary conflict, using the environment to your advantage. Focus fire on high-importance members and prioritize the safety of the tactical group’s members, trying to deviate the minimum from the mission parameters.
If many teams are deployed at once, each of the commanders is expected to cooperate in tactical groups of 6 groups each, with one of the commanders representing the groups on a higher tactical group. These platoons of 32 soldiers respond to a field officer, and all field officers will respond to a field overseer.
Space Combat: Most of the same directives of tactical-level combat are carried over to space combat, however, a few new are introduced: Try to avoid combat whenever advantageous, and try to gather advantages before necessary conflict, using the environment to your advantage. Focus fire on high-importance members and prioritize the safety of the tactical group’s members, trying to deviate the minimum from the mission parameters. However, a few new tactics are employed, such as focusing fire from ships and flanking maneuvers with strike drones, the usage of the environment is prioritized, such as hiding within dust clouds, behind asteroids or planets, using gravitational wells for slingshot maneuvers, etc.
The priority of space attacks is to decommission the enemy ship, targeting in the order: Shields/Movement, Sensors/Comms, Weaponry, and lastly, Energy and the command bridge. They do so by overwhelming enemy ship’s shields with spinal weaponry, and using secondary guns for targeting individual components or drone strike craft to the same avail.
Nation Scale: For Wartime operations, the MISE and GL&M have plans already programmed. The IPD database will take most of these changes into account and program the changes in production lines, mobilizing resources and populace. High-importance points such as Musavi and the gateway have their protection heightened, and so do most of the vital infrastructure lines of the MISE and GL&M, with constant mobilization of security detachments. The Periphery systems go from passive to active detection, and observe the majority of FTL signals that transit in and out of MISE territory.
Module and ship production is heightened as the IPD predicts and handles the losses and programs the production line in real time to meet the demands of the battlefield. The priority of the MISE and GL&M fleets are in such an order: Defend the Important Infrastructure and Choke points, attack enemy infrastructure in fast and disposable destructive attacks, avoid head-on conflicts with a large majority of enemy fleets, prioritize guerilla combat with ambushes and traps.
