Lagertha took out a small empty vial, in which a potion had been before, and put a few snippets in there to later be able to pick up the scent again..
"Alright, what now?"
"Well, we can either find this doc and see if he's got anythin to do w'it or we try and follow the scent."
Lagertha nods..
"Or the scent will take us right to him. Im for the scent."
"Me too. Lets go."
He nodded to Tommy..
"We'll try and find whoever did this."

He scratches his head.
"Whut thae hull am I supposed tae dae aboot thus feller thae? And yon acid?"
He follows them down the stairs.
"I'sn suppose I'll hae tae wait until his'n frind gits back."

Heinrich sticks Blak's pistol he had wrenched out of his hand into his belt so that is it is hidden by his coat and thinks for a second..
"Who do you mean by friend? The woman or someone else?"

(Wanted to write the thing with the pistol in the last post but forgot, hope its ok)

"They hud a lad wi'em, odd feller, vurry polite thae, called "Nurian" I'sn thunk, I heard'em call 'im thut anyway."

"Hmm, alright. Yeah, I think he'll be able to help ya clean this up, in the meantime obviously don't touch the acid, but you could try putting different materials into it like glass and metal, if one of them won't be corroded away use it to scrape the acid into a hole and close it up."
They walk out the door..
"Good luck, and take care, man!"

Once they have left, the barkeeper shakes his head.
"Dinnae credit it, ne'er knae et befo'."

The street outside is wet with rain, rain which still falls heavily, and as the two leave they pass a rather pale looking man, very smartly dressed, who appears to be dry despite the downpour, he smiles at them before walking into the inn.

Tson Heinrich nods to Lagertha, and they part ways. While Lagertha follows the scent, Heinrich turns back around and heads back inside under the guise of having forgotten something in his room..

The man is talking to Tommy, who nods at Heinrich as he re-enters.
"Hae yae fergotten somethin'?"

The trail is very faint, and getting fainter by the second, asthe rain washes away the scent, it seems to lead from the window of the room along the rooftops...

Heinrich nods..
"Yeah in my room. Gimme a minute."
He heads up the stairs towards his room, but stops on the stairs out of their view to seemingly bind his shoelaces, and now concentrates on trying to hear what they say..

(Imagine their boots kind of like hiking boots, but higher, and the shoelaces go up the whole way, if you take your time you can easily stretch binding your laces for 5 mins)

Lagertha follows the scent through the rain, picking up speed to not lose it. Even for witchers her sense of smell is extremely heightened, and she almost flies along the trace, which to her almost visually appears in front of her..

"Fascinating, however I wish to speak to you about the other issue, do you have time?"
"Aye, gies a tick, Taisn get m-"
"Please be quick, I have business to attend to. More now than I did when I came in, do you know how much trouble you cause me Thomas?"
"Taisna my fault mester mayor! Et's all these foringers!"
"Do you have a back room we could use? I do not feel that here is the best place to discuss it."
"Oh... aye, follow me."
The voices dissapear, and all that can be heard now is the hum of the patrons chatter.

Lagertha follows the trail up through the town, it skips across rooftops and gaps that no human could jump until it reaches the churchyard, and there the trail fades, as the grass of the churchyard has been trodden to mud by workmen who are erecting scaffolding around the tower, there are two warming their hands around a burning drum, and the look up curiously when they see the witcher on the roof.

Unfortunately he does not know the layout of the downstairs very well, and without breaking into rooms, he cannot exactly search completely.

Tson Heinrich thinks for a second about the floor plan, then finishes binding his shoes in a mere second and silently moves up the stairs, thinking about which room they would go into and which would lay above that..

She swings down from the roof around the backside so she is not seen too long by them, then walks over to the two...
"Hey, im looking for someone, a lady, kinda dog like. Seen her passing through?"
She pauses..
"I tried to take a look around from up there to spot her, but no luck."
She smiles sheepishly....

"verdammte.."
He tries to remember what he had seen when Tommy showed him the storage room with the acid, and goes over to the room where Blak's body laid. Heinrich pressed his ear at the hole made by the acid, trying to hear anything below, while at the same time not touching the acid..

The workers stare at her oddly.
"Nae, she wus here a few days agae, whun the bell dropped. I hasnae seen naebody but the Mayor thus morning, but I'sn aenly jes goat here, yae should ask the foreman, Jeb, He'n ben heere all day. Whut where yae lookin fer her for lass?"

The area around the fluid is uncomfortably hot, and he cannot quite get near it without burning himself, he can tell, even at this distance though, that there is nothing to be heard.
"Greetings, is listening to the floor a hobby of yours or have you only just stumbled upon this particular avenue of amusement?"
The voice is behind him, coming from the doorway.

as they proceed they are able to pinpoint the location more accurately, and soon find themselves walking down a narrow alleyway, almost completely covered by the jetteys of the houses above, and stinking of mould, they eventually reach a house that seems to be free of the rot, a white wall, with a brown wooden door, the door has a brass plaque on it. "Dr C. Earhart, Physician" the signal seems to come from somewhere inside...

It finds nothing missing, nothing appears to even be scratched, the only problems that seem to remain are that it cannot detect external stimulus of any kind, and still cannot reach the cortex.

As Nurian walks downhill to the southeast, the buildings around him get more and more dilapidated, the air under the overhanging jetteys feels stale, and water drips from algae covered walls, there are people here, hunched, struggling through the rain, at first he sees nothing, but then he notices the bandages, the people here all wear them, their flesh where it is visible red and sickly, covered in pustules or terrible rashes, he can see rats scuttling in the gloom at the edges of the streets, alive with fleas, and he passes a beggar, who raises a sore covered hand to touch his cloak.
"Spare a few coins sur..."

With their guard up, Antares and Capella continue on, towards the destination of the signal.

After much processing, Centauri's backup AI decides not to send a panic signal, instead opting to run a deeper diagnostic to see what exactly is blocking access to the drone body. Anything added? Anything removed? Anything... off?

Nurian turned around using the map he got from Cecil, to locate the living place of the elusive 'Doctor Earhart', going off from the main-street as soon as possible so the gargoyle would bring a little bit less attention to him than it already did anyways...

"I need to ask her something about a friend of ours, he's in quite the pickle right now. Where can I find the foreman?"

"Was inspecting the acid. Did you know that you can find out the ingredients of an acid by listening to its sizzling? The stronger ones sizzle at a higher frequency.. But thats not important, much more is how you got up here from down there in an instant."

"It gets w'rse - someone else is here... The horror!"

"Is that the same motherfucking psionic signature from before!?" Antares could no longer hide his vindictive nature, gritting his polymer teeth and reaching for his rifle.

"E'gads, lad! Keep thine wits about thee!"

...This makes no sense for the backup AI. Which is Explorer-Class primarily. Without the necessary information, how is it able to determine that everything is "okay?" It is not okay with the status quo - the last thing it remembers was an engagement with a pack of deranged canine predators. Aren't there damages? Aren't there irregularities?

It now has no choice but to emit the panic signal.

Rhick's amulet begins to glow.

"Panic signal, from Centauri's backup AI. I'm calling Arcturus for immediate assistance. I'll handle Earhart and whatever beast he is communing with, you find Centauri."

"I doth wish it nay hath come to this."

Capella bends the light around him to make him invisible to the naked eye, though it would not hide himself from powerful psychics effectively, and prepares to find an alternate way in. Antares turns off the safety on his rifle and barges through the door.

"EARHART! YOU HAVE SOMETHING OF MINE THAT IS IN YOUR POSSESSION. I DEMAND IT RETURNED."

Arcturus gets a mental message from Antares... they found Centauri in a hostage situation. They need his help.

"Well. Looks like I DO have to help out."

He makes a few quick checks to see if the outpost and the mer are in need of attention, before preparing to leave for Zagt.

...Nurian stopped briefly and looked down on the man, there was a rather...odd look on his face, almost as if his eye was twitching, what he thought only he knew, after a moment he turned away again and kept walking the cloak slipping out of the beggars fingers, though as he looked down he found a few pieces of copper there...
Nurian on the other hand kept walking without showing any further reaction...

"Ovver thar, he'n the one standing under the awnin'"
He points to a man with a stubbly beard who is standing with a worker, pointing at something on a piece of parchment and gesticulating.
"He'n an awkward bogger, daen't tek much he says tae heart."

"Personally, oh acid listener, I do not believe that is the most important thing, I wish to know why you have returned here when I saw you leaving, I understand that you say you forgot something, yet this is not, I believe your room, as if it was I would be asking you why there is a corpse in it."
He bows, he appears to be about twenty, he is pale, with black short hair, and wears a blue velvet waistcoat with a white cravat, the gold chain of a pocket watch clearly visible in his top pocket, he smiles, slightly unnervingly.
"I am Baron Cedric Von Utarefson, and the mayor of Zagt, who, may I ask, are you."

"Thanks a bunch."
With that she walked over to the mayor..
"Hey, could I ask you something?"

"I am Heinrich von Riva, a witcher, though I don't suppose you know what that is. Basically I'm a hunter, and thats about all you need to know about me or to know why im here."
He nods back to the mess behind him..
"You know anythin about this, Mr. Mayor?"

He takes a single strand of fur between the small claws of his paw, and yanks it off of his body. It'd be very hard for Earhart to do that on his own, maybe with the help of his assistant he'd get halfway there.

"People call me "Ambassador". Anyways, I shall head straight to the point, I have read a book of yours in "psychic projection" and I'd like to know more about the subject."

The Doctor's face lights up.
"You haff read my book? Wunderbar!"
He grabs the Ambassador's hand and begins vigorously shaking it.
"Finally a man who understands zhe value of science! I vill anzver any qvestions you haff about it, please, komm vis me."
He leads the Ambassador through into a second room, in this room there are... shapes... on benches under cloths, and it is colder in here. Also, strapped to a slab on the wall are two things, one, a large metal figure, bigger than a normal man, and roughly shaped to look like a human, it's face has a large square jaw, and a single "Eye" thatb appears to be no more than a glass lense, however the other figure... the other figure is clearly nothing from this world, it is an Android, fairly advanced, with pink and white armour.
"Zhis is vere I conduct my experiments, I haff tried many times to create zhe right condishionsz ass I haff saidin my book, but I haff yet to find a potent enough source of psionic energy."
"Err, doctor-"
"Be qviet James, I am speakink to our guest. Ah yes, so over here..."
He walks to the metal figure and points to it.
"...Ve haff Viktor, he ist my automaton, I haff attempted to make a functional one for a lonk time, and Viktor iss zhe first zhat can run for more zhan five seconts... Id iss still in progress ja? However, I recently found zhis sink in zhe forest, it vos lyink in zhe middle off a pile of volf corpses."
He points to the Android.
"I haff been trying to revive it, but so far it hass remained dormant, I do not knoew why."

"Whaet dae yae want? Caen' yae see I'sn busy, I'sn daen't dae this fer fun y'knae?"
The Foreman gives her a withering look.
"Bae quick, I'sn haen't git all day."

"If I did, do you think I would tell it to a man I found crouched over the body?"
The mayor raises an eyebrow.
"If I did not hear from Thomas that you had helped him discover the scene, this would be extremely suspicious, compared to just slightly suspicious."

At the sound of the door splintering James jumps and covers his head, Dr Earhart however looks annoyed.
"Ach two doors in vone day, I do not know why people cannot chust knock..."
He grabs a hose that looks suspiciously similar to the one that he was pointing at the Ambassador earlier, and he smiles at the Ambassador.
"You must excuse me, I vill haff to do zhe laugh or it vill not look authentic."
He points the hose at the metal automaton on the wall.
"Now iss zhe time for your testink Viktor, hahaha, oahaha MUAHAHAHA!"
A sizzling sound and a sense of static courses through the air, and a bolt of raw electricity jumps from the hose to the giant metal man, his joints spasm, then his limbs rip from their harnesses.
"Oh dear I alvays forget to remove zhe restraints... ah yes, LOS VIKTOR! EINDRINGLINGE!"
The automaton stomps forward, knocking a large table out of the way and taking half of the doorway out as he passes through it, the DC androids are confronted by a wall of bronze, a large blue glowing eye set in the center of it's head, it stands ominously scrutinizing them...
"Verdammt, I must give him better collision awareness somehow, James, make a note..."

The two mer look at him mournfully, they have been sitting quietly watching him as he has been working. They stare at him, then one opens it's mouth.
"Not...go."
