The area around the fluid is uncomfortably hot, and he cannot quite get near it without burning himself, he can tell, even at this distance though, that there is nothing to be heard.
"Greetings, is listening to the floor a hobby of yours or have you only just stumbled upon this particular avenue of amusement?"
The voice is behind him, coming from the doorway.

as they proceed they are able to pinpoint the location more accurately, and soon find themselves walking down a narrow alleyway, almost completely covered by the jetteys of the houses above, and stinking of mould, they eventually reach a house that seems to be free of the rot, a white wall, with a brown wooden door, the door has a brass plaque on it. "Dr C. Earhart, Physician" the signal seems to come from somewhere inside...
It finds nothing missing, nothing appears to even be scratched, the only problems that seem to remain are that it cannot detect external stimulus of any kind, and still cannot reach the cortex.

As Nurian walks downhill to the southeast, the buildings around him get more and more dilapidated, the air under the overhanging jetteys feels stale, and water drips from algae covered walls, there are people here, hunched, struggling through the rain, at first he sees nothing, but then he notices the bandages, the people here all wear them, their flesh where it is visible red and sickly, covered in pustules or terrible rashes, he can see rats scuttling in the gloom at the edges of the streets, alive with fleas, and he passes a beggar, who raises a sore covered hand to touch his cloak.
