They find the Inn quiet, there are few people inside, only some (Assumedly) fishermen in oilskins sitting at a pair of tables in the corner, and conversing in low tones, the conversation stops when the two witchers enter, and they find themselves the subject of cold, suspicious stares as they make their way to the bar. The barkeeper is polishing the ale taps, and has either not noticed them, or is pretending he hasn't.

"Well, in that case, please follow us. Come Hermione, where is Sophia's raincape?"
"Here Jasper."
Jasper makes sure the girl has her raincape covering her, then the three step down from the coach, into the rain, Sophia clinging to her father's hand.
They walk up the street past the town hall, there is a low hill that the street runs up and the Ambassador can see in the near distance the edge of a cliff with seabirds wheeling around it, the four walk up the long winding road, passing between timber framed houses, they can see the sea now to their right, crashing and rolling against the large harbour walls, the houses they are passing are growing larger, and are made of stone and brick now, small mansions, then they reach the top of the hill, and on the point of the cliff there is the largest mansion they have seen yet, they walk toward the gate, there is a lanturn ahead, and a wheezing voice calls out to them.
"Who goes there?"
Jasper raises his hand.
"It is us Clamper, do not worry."
"Sir Jasper! Thank the heavens! We was beginning to get worried! Where's the carriage?"
"Unfortunately we lost the carriage on the way to Zagt, and Peters..."
Jasper's voice trails off.
"...Peters will no longer be part of the staff."
There is silence, and the rain spatters on the road, then "Clamper" moves, opening the gates.
"Come in Sir, there is no point dwelling on it. Leave that fer when you are warm and dry."

The two appear in the heart of the Jungle, and small buzzing things immediately start trying to bite them, It is raining heavily, and is dark as pitch. There are the hoots and calls of exotic fauna all around them, and the two experience an eerie feeling, as if they are not the only ones present, they both feel a chill in the top of their heads, as if a cool wind had brushed their brains, then it is gone, and there is only the rain, the hootings and chitterings, and the annoying biting things.
