The man looks at them darkly.
"Rullae?"
He bends toward her slightly.
"Thaes bae sam bauld wurds massae, fram saemone that ware trying tae snek in unnoticed."

He smiles, sipping from the chalice.
"It is my job to know things, and I take my job very seriously."
He leans forward again and places the chalice on the desk.
"Now, I am afraid that is all I know at present, though myself I am endeavoring to find out more, as I have a, shall we say, vested interest."
He stands, bowing and without saying a word the Lupidirans can tell the meeting is at an end. As they walk to the door, he calls after them.
"There was one more thing, I would go and visit Dr Earhart, he lives on Shortcastle street, though he won't get back to town until 8:30 tomorrow night, he is... unfortunately detained. Have a pleasant day my dears, and if you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to come and ask me."
He puts a hand to his forehead, in a theatrical gesture of surprised forgetfulness.
"Oh how rude of me, I completely failed to introduce myself, I am Baron Cedric Von Utarefson, though charming ladies such as yourself may just call me Cedric."
He smiles again, and seems to exude a predatory atmosphere, the two seem to be fixed to the spot, unable to move.
"Be seeing you."
He winks again, and closes the door, as soon as they are released from that terrible gaze, the two Lupidirans feel they can move again...

There is nothing to be seen, and when he looks back, he can see Jem peering at the lady with the black veil, brow creased.
"'Ere, who's this gloomy old bat back here? I don't remember her buying a seat."
He peers closer, sniffing, looks concerned, and lifts up a corner of the veil.
"My god..."
He reels back, a look of shock upon his face, and the Veiled head slowly turns to face... The Ambassador. Then with an air of transfixing menace a bony hand reaches up and lifts the veil...
The face underneath peers at them through shrunken empty eye sockets, the skin is shriveled, and tight against the skull, and there is no nose, only the small bony protuberance you see on a skull, the cadaver's mouth drops open, and there is a rattling sound that sounds like hellish laughter. The ambassador suddenly feels faint, there is intense pain at his temples, and a ringing in his ears...*

Up front, Heinrich and Lagartha both feel faint as well, with the same pain at their temples...
