Sentinel_assault Alright, I'm not one of the official teachers, but I figure I can help give some starter tips.
First off: Your Halberd design (cool name, btw). It looks to be rather under-gunned for its price range, with only two heavy laser blasters and two electro bolters.
The overall internal layout is also a bit messy. Ultimately, you're looking to compartmentalize, which is where you separate out sections of the ship internally, for maximum efficiency, I'll link a wonderful guide that should better explain.

Right now, your crew and reactors are way too far from the weapons they need to power. You should place them far closer. You also have a lot of excess doors, which are actually rather costly and make your ship more prone to fires, as fire will only spread through doors. You should only have the doors that your crew will need.
On the defensive side, you could use more P/D, and most definitely shields.
As for the Warhammer, all of the things above apply. It's under-gunned, and in this case, is very over-crewed. You won't need that many crew on a ship that large, assuming you use compartments. You should probably ditch the missile storages, as storage units are almost always inferior to their factory counterparts. They simply hold their respective ammo, and are explosive. Factories will at both produce and store a limited cache of their ammo type.
Missile launchers themselves can be run efficiently on a 2:1 ratio (two launchers will run on one factory).
Both designs also have too many reactors. One reactor and storage would run the Halberd fine, if the internal layout was closer, and you definitely have way more reactors than needed on the Warhammer. It is always a good idea to minimize the amount of reactors you use to save on cost and for protection reasons, as they are very prone to exploding (thus, you should never place them too close together without internal armor to separate them, as they will chain explode).
Hope this helps, and good luck!
EDIT: And yeah, the attach feature broke today, I think. It's not just you, I can't post either, and others have been saying similarly.
