Event Format

  • Participants can submit their ships by posting in this thread. Do not contact IVIemories on discord or you risk your ship being lost in the depths of my computer!
  • A number of finalist ships will be selected by moderators for community voting (based on number submitted)
  • Walt will veto any ships he feels to be not well suited for inclusion in Bounty Hunter
  • Community votes on selected ships to decide contest champion
  • Top three ships will be added to the game as bounty hunter enemies (plus any additional ships Walt personally picks)
  • Winner of the contest will receive discord rank and forum flair
  • The designers of any ships added to Bounty Hunter will get their name in the game credits

Guidelines

  • There is no minimum budget, but please note that ships which serve no purpose or are not appropriate for Bounty Hunter will not get past the moderator voting phase
  • Ships built purely for combat (pure walls, death cubes etc) are unlikely to pass the moderator voting phase
  • This is a design contest, so please don't try to stuff as many weapons as possible into your ship; ships should be visually appealing as well.

Notes and rules

  • Budget limit of ₡ 2,500,000
  • Mods are NOT allowed
  • Both form and functionality will be considered when selecting finalist ships
  • Paint and decals are considered when selecting ships
  • One ship per participant
  • Ships MUST be functional
  • By submitting a ship to this contest, you are giving Walt permission to include that ship as a built-in ship in Cosmoteer, if he so chooses

Rewards

  • Discord rank (Master of design)
  • Forum flair
  • Your name in the credits if your ship is chosen to be added as a built-in ship

Submit only .ship.png files, and please make sure they are within the budget limit and are not illegal designs. Any ships that are not .ship.png files or are illegal/over budget will not be considered at all.

You are now allowed to change your ships after you have submitted, but remember to submit only one ship or else I will not include any of your ships. Also if you do not name your ships then I'm going to name them myself (and I do not have ANY naming sense), you have been warned!

Don't worry about the ship strength too much. Both strong and weak ships are allowed as long as they are functional enough and not too over the top, aesthetics will be as important as functionality when choosing the final design.

    IVIemories I suppose by using no mods you also mean we can't use the huge ships mod? I basically have that always on, perhaps I'll need to turn it off this time?

            Use imgur, the attach image function has been broken for a while

            This is the Gladius Class Corvette, coming in at a cool 469k credits. It is a small and effective picket ship that is just as well suited to escort duty as direct combat.

            While its main armament of a Mark II, Light Coil - 56A2D4 MAC (Railgun) is small, it is more than capable of dealing with opponents similar in size. The Gladius also sports secondary laser and electro bolt cannons to deal with any foes trying to flank it. Tertiary armament consists of 10 point defense cannons; this gives the Gladius its excellent escort/fleet defense capabilities.

            The Redemption!

            This ship was designed with intent of being a fast intercepter, With it's two railguns and missiles. I can post the Minelayer version, but I prefer this one. Its Strong points include:
            Multiple layers and gaps in design and armor.
            High maneuverability.
            Good Variety of weaponry.

            Weak Points
            Little to no shields
            Weak areas that connect to important areas
            (Forgot cost, but shouldn't use any mods.)
            (I'm just posting all of strong points if someone wanted to test it against their own ship.)

            IVIemories functionality as in to survivability?

              Bevan Functionality as in "don't send me any pixel art" and "freighters are cool and all, but i'm not likely to consider your ship fit for bounty hunter if it doesn't have any weapons"
