Hi, after some work, I managed to make bigger and stronger version of my missle + railgun destroyer. Stands against most of tier 10 ships quite well.

Krowanek Nice ship! Fighting this with something slower must be really hard...
I see some room for improvement however:
Use 1*2 armor for the hull, it's got higher penetration resistance.
Replace those connecting corridors with structure. It may look worse, but only costs half as much.
Add a second railgun, your current power system can already supply two anyways.
Remove some unnecessary corridors (like the ones in the inner flak module).
One factory can't even supply a single flak turret, so having it supply two is a rather bad idea.
Remove some of the frontal amor, your never gonna need that much.
You missile modules could have two shields.
Check for those little mistakes everyone makes once in a while. (The second shields in front of the railgun lack armor on the inner side, the door placement could be improved on some spots, ....)
CursedPh4nt0m Didn't know 1*2 armors are more resistant, thx. I was messing around with second railgun and double shields on missle modules, but as I was trying to maintain the look while still staying under 5 mill, they just didn't fit. Maybe i'll try to make another version of it later. Also didn't know (and didn't check it either) that flaks use so much ammo.
This build isn't most efficient for sure, it's more about look, but still being able to fight against GiF ships in its tier as that was my goal.
Northerner Nuke ships are not so easy to work with, the AI is not so smart at times...
Nevertheless, I think I got something working.

I won't be surprised if it doesn't pass, but I feel like getting a nuke ship in is something I need to get done.
Alpha While I do like the paint, your thruster placement, the side facing PD and the idea of basing a ship on nukes, I'm honestly somewhat disappointed with the outcome:
Those nuke-launcher modules are way too large, their reactors are placed unbeneficial and they don't even need that much energy.
The outer flak modules don't need power storage behind the shields. You may place one above the thrusters, the way you placed them is rather wasteful tho.
The shield modules waste lots of reactor potential too.
Your CRs might be protected by two shield layers, but are still rather vulnerable.
The outer large thrusters should get direct connections to the reactor and the doors between the engines in those thruster modules should get moved to the outside.

That final point of yours is me who was really silly. Let me change that.
About these other things, I have the following explanations.
About the reactor modules being too large, I partially agree. It would have been better to put the shield besides the launcher, and the factory closer if I wanted to go for compact. In this case however I aimed for thinner, longer modules to prevent explosions chaining easily, while still keeping the nuke launchers close to eachother.
Since the flak are firing almost without stopping, the crew has little time to power those shields, perhaps it seems wasteful to add those storages, they certainly help a little. Also, this module was created way to hastely, since I noticed I was on shortage of flak and didn't want to waste too much credits.
To resume things, this is the first 'decent' ship I've made with nukes. If it is a bit flawed, that doesn't matter. I'm still a 'student' in this case, and I'm learning.
Expect my future nuke ships to be better. Perhaps this ship may not pass, and probably neither will the next. But know this: I will get a nuke ship into this mod!
Alpha I felt like testing it and had your Cinder fight my I/C-Wall: Those 12 front facing PD on my ship could block off the nukes good enough to keep all ion beams from getting destroyed. I still feel like I lost, as the Cinder desroyed 3 out of 4 anti-missile/projectile modules with it's flak. (Total damage done to the I/C-Wall: ~85.000 credits.)
You wouldn't mind me trying to improve the Cinder, would you?
And know this: I will get at least one ship in every tier! ('Cause I might have too much free time and want to test my limits.)
CursedPh4nt0m Feel free to try. In my opinion seeing other people take a go at ships you've built gives new ideas. A new approach is always welcome!
And yeah, I noticed the nukes get destroyed easily by ships with some flak/PD. I've been thinking about adding some small cannons next time I build a nuke ship. They would serve as a good distraction.
Alpha Large cannons work too. And their projectiles survive longer. I've seen that a lot during my tests for the 'Oblivion'.
I personally think nukes just aren't suited for this tier. Some really large ship may use them as 'main weapon' of sorts and small fighters can get close enough to bypass the PD, but 1-3 million builds usually sport enough PD to defend against nukes.

Alpha Sure. I'm just saying it won't be easy. Getting a ship in GiF is hard, but the 'class' your trying to get in will really struggle against most other tier 8 builds.
The_Bloodnaught In order of submission : Pass, Fail. That second ship is pretty 'splody.
Krowanek Passed! though it was extremely close, lucky most of the ships in that tier are broadsiders!
Alpha Did not pass. I thought it was going to pass at first, but then it started getting goomba stomped.
Northerner Yeah, it's the kind of ship that wrecks some kinds of ships, but gets obliterated by others. Improvements shall be made!
I made some changes, but it's mostly the same ship. This one has more shield layers and a faster nuke reloading speed.
If it still doesn't pass, I'm going to create an entirely different design. I also got a dreadnaught in the making, but that one is not finished yet.
Alpha Did not pass. Flak destroys nukes in a single hit so using them as your only weapon isn't great... Also when the nukes were destroyed by flak they damaged your ship. It seemed like the ship did more damage to itself with either the nukes detonating inside the ship or being destroyed by the flak in the ship than it did to other ships.
Northerner Yeah, those hostile flak were the main reason I thought this ship wouldn't pass. Don't worry, I'll get myself a nuke ship worhty to become part of the mod. (Also, the dreadnaught only needs some paint and final testing, expect that one to come before the new nuke ship .)
