      This is a stripped down version of my Mjolnir Class, which is waaaaay over the limit. This one though, this is right in that glorious final tier. I'll give it a snazzy paint job if it passes, cause otherwise its big brother is a lot more interesting. (It's got like twice as many weapons and more thrust.)

          Northerner I've had some spare time on my hands tonight, so I've taken in your advice for improvement upon the current design. Everything has pretty much been overhauled passed the guns, "interior" has a new design rather than the layered one previously. The rear boasts a shielded 'V' EMP missile system, and the thrusters have been re-fitted. If there are any more improvements past the guide and current advice that you can observe, I'd love to hear it. Anyways, the Bird of Prey Mk II:

          Lukz2cool Just loaded that ship ingame... Well, you've got a massive lack of thrusters for that mass. You should add way more engines.

          Oneye The factory to cannon ratio for Large is 1:1

          As the guide says, your modules will run out of ammo rather fast, as 2 large and 2 normal cannons are running on
          only 2 ammo factories.

          Oneye Keep in mind that reactor efficiency also relies heavily on how distant the things that have to be powered are

          The upper pd will run out of energy pretty fast, the crew simply has to walk too far to keep it powered.

          Also: Don't fill empty space with armor. Use structure or corridors if you really need a spacefiller. It's recommended to leave it empty, place engines, sensors, (crew,) or adjust the shape.

          Edit: Just had a battle. Your 4.9 million ship ended up loosing almost all cannons and only won due to the electro missiles disabling (and destroying) the enemy 2.3 million railfan I posted in the building guide some days ago. The design is a nice idea, but it needs some improvements before having a chance to become a part of this mod. After all, even experienced guys like Oneye and Alpha struggle to get their ships into the mod.

          That's a big improvement in just one iteration, but as said above you really don't want to use armor as a filler because it is so heavy.

          Your cannon situation isn't necessarily bad though, the AI tends to fidget constantly so any guns that run dry will soon be rotated away from the enemy anyway. Run some test battles and see what you think of how it does.

          You did forget fire extinguishers though, in the cannon and thruster areas, you'll definitely need to add a few of those.

          If you rotate one ammo factory and add one connecting corridor per cluster of guns your crew will be much more able to power your point defenses, grab fire extinguishers, etc.

          EMP missiles are very good but you really don't need more than a handful of them, I would switch all but the innermost 3 or 5 launchers to use HE instead. I'd leave EMP on the inside because its range is longest, so it doesn't really suffer from having to fly all the way around your ship. Also you probably want more crew in your missile compartments, though I'm not sure if best practices have been established for that yet.

          After ten tries to use the normal attach, I gave up...

          This ship, which costs a tiny bit less than 20 million has some obvious weakspots implemented. The real issue for the player is getting there without being crippled first. 🙂

            Alpha I think the real issue is going to be them loading that monstrosity haha!

            Lukz2cool Did not pass. That has a comical amount of EMP missiles haha! I would reccomend swapping all but inner most 5 to HE missiles, ALSO the shields that have by your thrusters can just be tossed since they are not really doing much. And I think someone else said this before but I will say it too, you can cut a huge chunks of that excess armor out which will boost it's mobility tremendously.

            P.S. for testing of the Bird of Prey, I'm pitting it against The Predator by Alpha and assessing the damage costs that the ship does to it. Of course I'll never hope to beat it with this thing, haha

            Lukz2cool Alpha's ship is not really an accurate representation of what it would take to get into the mod at the price range you are building for, try testing ships against this instead.

            Lukz2cool I agree with Northerner. If your ship beats Predator it will probably pass, but Predator is kinda OP. I would try other schips to fight against.

            Northerner I'll be sure to test Bird of Prey against these guys when I get home from work later. Mk III isn't far off from done, just needs small amounts of tinkering here and there to make the cannons + shields more efficient.

            Alpha It's not far off from beating Predator now. The Bird of Prey Mk III chews through the flak and railguns, also gets quite far into the missiles aswell. All I know is the ship is getting close 😛

            Now you're triggering my curiosity. I can't wait to see the Mk III 😀.

            After a bit of a refinement process, experimentation on which missile setup fires the fastest, armor alterations and attempted cannon refinement, I finally give you the Mk III. The multitude of cannon fire makes it past most point-defense setups and flak setups, which allows the barrage of missile fire to come through. The missiles can keep up a constant fire rate, which makes it threatening to most systems. Just can't really figure out the best setup the cannons should take 🤔

            Northerner The Bird of Prey can beat the first ship with ease, but not so much the second ship. I'm not awfully surprised, as the first is a tier 10 while the second is a tier 11.
            Alpha Here's the Mk III for ya 😛. It can efficiently beat The Predator, but often it comes down to a tug-o-war between both ships 😆

            I got some good news for you, it can be optimalized even more.
            Right now you beat Predator, but you could also totally dominate him with some minor tweaks. Mostly around the cannons.

            Cannon modules:

            1. The door between the small cannons is not needed, remove them to mak eyour ship slightly cheaper.
            2. You can easily use 1 factory for 2 small cannons. Much more cost friendly and less explosive.
            3. I see you have many factories standing against eachother, try to add a small layer of armor to prevent chain explosions.

            (Extra: 4. : You could also add some more armor around the reactors, only the shields require a lot of power.)

            Missile modules:

            5. Swap around the reactor and crew's quarters for better shield powering.

            Also, I forgot to mention that you have some useless corridors in your ship.
