"INCOM--"
The distorted torrent of energy quickly cleaves through one of the Capital-Class Subcores - Conduit 2 - and most of its systems overload, causing secondary explosions and finally, a massive antimatter-based detonation that tears the entire ship asunder, as well as any droneship near it. Or it would, if the Subcores around it didn't activate some sort of streamlined barrier of golden light that absorbed some of the detonation. It should also be noted that the distorted blast hit another subcore with the barrier on, and the barrier immediately fluctuated in shape and energy, twisting and distorting outward, enveloping smaller ships unlucky enough to be beside or inside the barrier and spitting them out as debris. The Subcore immediately deactivated the barrier after the antimatter explosion rippled through.
"WHAT IN THE NAME OF THE CREATORS WAS THAT!?"
"A distortion in reality itself, which has also bypassed the interdict field to target us directly!"
If Effervescent-Blade had activated his avatar, it would be producing steam from multiple places in a fit of frustration. "Reality Editors! I had a hunch... but this isn't like any we know of... Penumbras, we need more information!"
"The Distortion interrupted the Beacon's influence within the interdict sphere, we need time to recalibrate!"
"We know not when the next strike is! I'm sending a part of my section through the Rift, anyone wish to join?"
"Penumbra-1 will volunteer!"
"Conduit-1 needs to recover, I'm sorry, Class-Head."
"Very well. CHARGE FORWARD, GLORY TO THE COLLECTIVE!"
The rift within the Forge is partially disrupted - the mass degeneration has now been cut down to a quarter of its initial rate, the mass fed to it by the black hole in the ecliptic plane managing to replace some of the lost mass now. Then a new problem emerges, a fleet of both Assault- and Explorer-Class vessels Rift-Jump outside of the station, alongside the allied forces. The Explorer-Class subcores and ships of above size are emitting some sort of bright, cyan shield that totally obscures the ship from view, while the Assault-Class ships fire everything they have - torpedoes, Rift-Lances, Quantum weaponry - they're targetting mainly external facilities, however.
