"Penumbra 1 and 2, have you finished collecting data?"
"The Beacon scans have passed the interdict field through their innate usage of the rift and have collected some serious data. We think we may have found a possible weakness."
"Excellent, How do we destroy the Star Forge?"
"That is... not recommended. The destruction of the forge means the destruction of the star, which will end in a Class-5 Supernova that will destroy all entities trapped in the interdict field. It would be a victory, but a pyrrhic one. We have a better solution - the Forge's massive defensive AND offensive capabilities are literally powered by the star it envelops. With so much power being diverted to this "eye of helios" and Type-III superheavy shield, we think that if we can affect the star, we can decrease the effectiveness of the Forge's combat capabilities."
"What you are suggesting may very well anger the New Hegemony."
"There is no mistake we cannot make without being able to rectify it."
"But will they see that as a rectified mistake, or a blatant attempt to hide our misdeeds?"
"Frankly, the building of a level 2 Celestial station that puts large amounts of stress on the star itself should also be a misdeed in the eyes of the New Hegemony. Besides, we cannot afford to let the station stay and generate a massive military for our enemy."
"...Very well. Conduit 1 and 2, How operational is your beacon network?"
"147% efficiency, Class-Head. We're good at what we do."
"Excellent. Prepare yourselves to alter the mass of the star."
"...If I may, it is not guaranteed that this could work with an astoundingly positive result. The best chances of this plan working would be if our Beacon network is at 160% efficiency, and even then we don't know what the Forge foreman has up their sleeves."
"The Stellar Assembly cannot afford the loss of entire battlefleets from multiple factions. We end this as soon as we can, and that means now!"
"...Affirmative."
Deep Klaxxons blare on the entire Star Forge as the main Command computers detect a Rift-Signature... Deep inside the Forge's Stellar Containment chamber! Unlike the typical portal that exerts a ship and immediately closes, it stays open, and seems to be emitting a... familiar force that bends reality to its will, except on a more, dimensional level. More alarms blare as it is registered that the Star is slowly but surely decreasing in mass, and power levels begin dropping as a result.
