Northerner CHALLENGE 2 : In case the other is too easy beat this kite with an anti-kite ship costing no more than 250,000 being piloted by AI.
If you are wondering why you have to beat this with a ship costing almost half of its cost it is because that is natural for a player to grind lower worlds to be over powered in the next set of worlds and given the level of difficulty present in the mod it is all too easy for a player to want to kite. Given these factors it is obvious that an effective anti-kite ship must be able to beat a kite that is at least double its cost. No mean feat to say the least.

Northerner the ship in the video had 2 missiles on each side. And the top one (plus this one) had 2 extra reactors right behind the shields (i think?)

Northerner Ok, so for this one, it is moving too fast for even small lasers to hit it. Ion beams will not be of any use because of the AI stupid habit of setting unnecessary attack angles, moving the ions off their target. The only things I can think of now is a missile kiter that will kite the kiter (but then he could force it to charge him by moving his attack position back). Or a ship which has one rail as most of its budget meant to go through 2 shields and destroy the rails.

Oneye Actually I beat it with ions and a whole lot of thrusters. I didn't add many side thrusters because of cost but that seemed to prevent the AI from trying different attack angles. Here is what I beat it with.
Oddly without reverse thrusters the AI will not go into attack range....

Oneye The only problem is that if the opponents ship has a reactor dedicated to a shield then the ions wont get through. And this ship only works on rail gun and some missile kites, cannon kites will eat this ship. In short you will always be able to kite some how some way. If i wanted to "eliminate" kiting I would need as many anti kite ships as there are ships currently in the mod. All these anti-kite ships are going to is be easy cash to the people not kiting and make people who do kite sweat a lot ha ha!

Northerner That one loses in my tests, I tried something very similar but it also fails.

Oneye It wins 2 out of 3 times for me ill run it some more and see but it usually wins at least on my end.
edit : out of 5 battles it won 4. what are you doing differently in your tests?

Northerner For me it's 4/5 are losing. I'm using battle helper, your ship vs the TST KTE 3.
Edit: I did another 5 battles and in total it wins 4/10 battles.

Oneye Well I think the TST KTE's are actually more powerful than the kite from the video so we'll just test the anti-kites against the video ship I called Rival so we don't get some world ending anti-kites ha ha! And I am impressed with that Anti-Kite! Ill add that the normal worlds with your consent of course. And instead of calling them anti-kites how about we just call them interceptors? sounds much better.

I also made a ship to take out the ship from the video. It is one of the most ugly things I've made...
Ready Aim Fire
It is cheaper than Oneye's, but also less effective. There is the large luck factor of hitting the critical points, can take out a shield in one hit, and the shot keeps going afterwards.
Instead of charging at the target, it is actually so slow the kite cannot kite away. By strafing it will be able to get itself in a beneficial position. This way it is best against railgun only, almost unarmored kites.
