The fleet arm all its drone launchers, they prepare their weapons, althrough they have numbers on their side, its still a even fight, one that the Contingency cannot lose, as it will greatly disturb their plans if they lose such important battle.

...as the ship opened fire on the outer bounds of the asteroidfiled there seemed to be no reaction at first, though as it started to fire at the sign...
...the sign received no damage, though it began emitting dim red light, the words
-"Damages to this sign"
...began glowing as the sign expanded, glowing tentacles began expanding from the sign, violently engulfing and impaling the ship that attacked it, dragging it into it, disappaering to an unknown place or non-place, never to be seen again...
...a few seconds later the entire haunting was over again, the sign floating back at normal size through space as if nothing ever happened...

DarkPearl The Admiral growls in fury on the bridge and orders the fleet to advance further, and save weapon power until the enemy is within effective range. Maximum power is also fed into the shielding systems.

Here's the approximate layout of the fleet. As for the even fight, correct me if I'm wrong, but the Contingency uses numbers instead of tech/quality to win fights?

The fighter carrier at the back of the fleet spins as it spits Assault Fighters out of its dual hangar bays. It then pushes forward, as it mounts enough weaponry to be considered a battleship in its own right.

Fleet Disposition + 18 Heavy Assault Fighters.

Ships continue flying, now in direction of where asteroids fade out, but scribes are ordered to look for potentially useful materials in enviroment and classify them as objects of interest in archives. Captains are considering to head back and return home with cargobays in supply ships filled with jamming metal, however they think that pros of further travel will outnumber the cons.

...eventually teh ships passed the belt it indeed was it´s end, as the scribes looked back the field towered past them like a wall, their sensors were working again aswell, though before them the environment had changed drastically...
...the space inside the territory had a deep red glow to it, almost looking like it was filled with clouds of blood, further ahead in the far distance there seemed to be occasionally planets, most of them large and barren, though on some of them there appeared to be large amounts of biomass...

The larger ships fire large grappling hooks on a around 20 meteors and drag them towards them, then send out small mining vessels to extract the minerals jamming the sensors...

...wether it was the asteroids that have been towed in or the continued presence of the ships...whatever the voice was seemed angry...a few moments after the asteroids had been dragged in, a large swarm of small craft that looked like they were covered in a disturbing sort of flesh, started swarming out of the asteroid field and opened fire on the vessels surrounding them in the process...

the pings responded with a slightly annoyed tone,rather than the former diplomatic tone
first of all,it is you who attack us first,we did not harm anything except those who have a high chance of probability of harming us in the first place,secondly,we are only here to explore,and shall only deploy our weapons in case of an attack,now if you are willing to cease fire,we can sort this out via diplomatic terms,or do you rather take extreme measures,and having no benefits for both sides at all?
(also,not counting all those heavy quantum beam weaponary,we also got dimensional eater,and it is deployed already

After a moment aforementioned ship started moving again, and caught up, as it had full airlock and few densily packed containers of this strange red material, they ran few basic tests on it.

...as the Corvette moved out of the field it´s sensors started working again, there were a variety of desolate planets in the distance though most likely of higher interest was that Jakes vessel seemed to be heading towards one of them, though he apparently had a considerable headstart...

DarkPearl I dunno. We're looking at what, 3 Dreadnoughts and support ships against 90 of yours? Should be interesting. Anyways, this is why the Imperium doesn't mess around. We don't get out and about in the galaxy mucking things up (coughTIEcough) but when we do move, it's with power and strength. Anyways, the ball's in your court.

...the psionic link was successful, the crew of the ship seemed to be human, and scans resulted in the fact that it apparently originated from the Scavangers, though a custom one, not from the "main" production line, somewhere beyond the ship another dot appeared on the sensors whatever it was seemed to be bigger than both of their ships, though it was difficult to say what it was at a distance this far, as it was actually already at the border of the sensorrange of Kelrans vessel...
(Considering the Kel´Shir are one of the most advanced "normal" factions)

(I´m gonna leave the battle between the two factions to both of you as their only in outer-mid Cultterritory now and environmental effects are currently negligable at the borders of the field, though be sure to play fair or I WILL interfere.)

(The galactical Core got a diameter of several thousand lightyears, that isn´t exactly a planet, and in terms of the belts thickness, some of the vessels that entered the belt took several days to pass through it. Admittedly, you might be able to blast a hole into it with some effort, but entirely destroying it is unlikely, as well, you wouldn´t want to unshackle all of the things that are locked up within, Ixornvas, the H´Lohkrans (which in fact nobody encountered yet but are roaming free since the downfall) and Calamity were not the only things that the Warlord locked away.)

...as the mining vessels retreated some of them retained light damages, the shields of the larger vessels seemed to withstand the fire at first and occassionally they managed to shot some of their attackers down though they had a vast numerical advantage, if they won´t flee soon or do anything else against the attacks their shields will most likely give in at some point...
