...the sign received no damage, though it began emitting dim red light, the words

...began glowing as the sign expanded, glowing tentacles began expanding from the sign, violently engulfing and impaling the ship that attacked it, dragging it into it, disappaering to an unknown place or non-place, never to be seen again...
...a few seconds later the entire haunting was over again, the sign floating back at normal size through space as if nothing ever happened...

the fleet focus their fire on the nearest creature while both Macross fire their heavy quantum reaction cannon at the most dense clusters,causing a line of explosion and chaos from both front and end of the formation,the fleet speed up,hoping to outrun their opponent,while 20 VF-29 Durandal each carrying 4 dimensional eaters lift off from Macross Quatar,soon after the VF-27 has liftoff,50 RVF-25 each carrying a void crystal amplifier liftoff and pings via morse code,hoping the unknown sound can receive its message :we come in peace

Forewarned, the admiral orders all navigational and faction data copied over to a fighter, which accelerates back the way they came. The same data is wiped from the remaining ship's computers, and self-destructs are enabled, set to sensitive triggers. Then the order is given to advance.

The fighters close up around the Dreadnoughts as screening against drones, and the corvettes pull around and prepare to run interference. At the heart of the formation, the three small FTL ship prepare for some unknown purpose.

The Dreadnoughts open fire with long-range batteries.
