Ultranova Could you please add Automation + + compatibility? Like, the ability for the weapons to be controlled by the auto weapon controller?

Zachary I've already said before on the GCW Discord that I won't be doing that, but I don't think I put anything about it here, so here goes:

There is a reason I am not going to spend the time making this mod work with the weapon controllers.

For starters, the coding required to make it compatible would mean that I would have to spend hours of time getting the mod to work and be compatible for Auto++, whereas I could be spending that time to work on bounty hunter, re-do sprites or make a new part.

Another thing that should be considered is balance. Currently the mod has some semi-OP parts that are balanced in the way of crew. There's no way to prevent Auto++ from using the Power loaders on the turrets, but I don't want to have fully automatic weapon systems that aren't meant to be automatic, as I think that would just be far far too powerful.

The last thing that needs to be considered is lore. Of course, GCW is heavily based around lore, the parts each having their own importance in the lore. In a perfect world, the weapons would be manned by gunners and power would be distributed by automatic systems. Giving Auto++ compatibility to those parts would be taking away from the lore of those parts. Of course, I'm not against Automated parts, just against the bulk of the parts being automatic.

could add a cockpit (1 by 2 works as control room comes with a crew) and a bunk (1 by 1 houses one crew)

hutonahill Doesn't pretty much every other mod already come with those? If anything, GCW encourages larger builds, not fighters (with the sole exception of the phantom reactor)

CaptainRedstone Yea, considering this mod does encourage large ships, we would need a capital bridge of some kind... maybe even bigger then the bridge from the star wars mod ;p

hutonahill I was actually wondering how I should make the Command bridges useful, the main idea was that it increased the range of nearby weapons, but I can do thrust and production rates as well.

Ultranova hey really cool idea however i would love to get the mod but i am fearful of my computer getting another virus i got a virus trying to get the parts galore mod what can i do?

Timmy uh, kinda surprised that you managed to get a virus from any Cosmoteer mod. Like, Cosmoteer mods aren't even executables! I suspect whatever mod you tried to get used ad.fly, which displays about a hundred adds all saying "Click me to download!", hiding the true download button pretty well. Anyway, if you want to feel extra safe, when you download the mod (which is in Mediafire), find it in file explorer, right click it, and then select "Scan with Windows Defender"

When downloading something, always make sure that you know exactly what it is before running it. Cosmoteer mods come in a .zip file, and contain things like a mod.txt, and a folder called "Strings". If your download ends up being an executable program, especially if it is named something generic, like "Setup.exe", then be very, very careful with it. I personally keep the habit of scanning pretty much anything I download (except for basic text and image files), no matter where I get it from, and I suggest you do the same

RedAndCosmoteer Not really, no. The current dev build is pretty ok, but the beam cannon is sadly, still highly unstable. I think the release is kind of waiting on a work-around to this issue, but it might be until the next update, as it strongly appears to be a logic error in halfling core itself, not anything wrong with Ultra's code

RedAndCosmoteer Not in the slightest. I've got a lot more stuff to do for Bounty hunter and a few more parts. And yeah, the Beam Cannon and several other parts are not functioning properly, as Captain Redstone said.
