Since we are united states, that means we name ourselves by the state we reside in. Such as Idahoan, Oregonian, Washingtonian, or Kentuckian. We use such terms for ourselves. The states are separate from the federal government. Think of the European Union as the federal government, and the countries like Germany, France, as the states.
