A Species discovered in 2043, Domini Naturae (The Masters Of Nature) are a species of sapient plant. These creatures are surprisingly intelligent, and have learned how to extract iron and such from asteroids. This made them become enemies to mining companies such as Cross Mining Co, and potential problems for capital ships. These creatures boast that they are the greatest ship architects ever, (Which is more than likely not true!) and like to prove their superiority regularly. (They also communicate with Emphasized Text, which is actually how their language translators write. They usually communicate with particles.)
Philosophy
They believe that it's every species' best interest to go back to nature. They are greatly disgusted by humans who don't think this way, not understanding the point of a city other than to avoid natural competition and population control. They are indeed heartless towards species like most of us. However, after a war in 1673, They have become elusive after their creators that they call "The Red Sphere Collective" checked their numbers. Medieval art of red spheres in the sky may have been depicting this mysterious race, which disappeared, poetically, without a trace. They also care little for the less capable, usually discarding the weak as usually unworthy.
Factions that are one with nature are usually big allies of Domini Naturae, even if their intent is to infect every animal in space. As long as everything is a biological harmony, Domini Naturae will take a rest.
History
1673: Ending stages of The RSC's revenge to their creations, Domini Naturae. This offence was so effective the species only have 3% of it's previous population up to today.
1864: The last offspring of Domini Naturae germinate and grow. They learn through chemicals everything about the past, and they wish to restore their empire.
2014: The last members of the species are fully grown after 150 years of development. They begin to put their plan into action, travelling the cosmos and creating more seeds to restore their population.
2036: They begin to sneak around on earth, looking for remnant technology of their creators who mysteriously disappeared, in where the Holy Roman Empire used to be. The searches were unsuccessful.
2043: After a satellite was not broadcasting properly, Cosmonauts discovered a Domini Naturae specimen later nicknamed Naviganti feeding off of the satellite's iron. The other spies forgot her on earth. She would live until April 24, 2044 due to a lack of edible material.
2059: Humanity continues researching space travel, much to the notice of the Domini Naturae.
2064: Sightings and encounters across space are becoming more and more common. Some humans actually befriend them, due to their naturalist beliefs. Otherwise, encounters are temporary or violent. Cross Mining Co. Have plenty of issues due to them being a fledgling company at the time.
2065: The modern day of Cosmoteer (As if real life 2017) still sees Domini Naturae. It was recently discovered that they have a good fleet and a massive civilization, Spanning about at least 2,000 Galaxies. It is rumored that they have invented a fast travel method more efficient than FTL. Some scientists think that they have a Tesseract drive, like the Tesseract from the human book "A Wrinkle In Time" created in 1963, Written by Madeleine L'Engle.
Currently Discovered Ships (Updates Regularly With New Sightings)
THE BROADSIDE RUNNER
Mass: 484 Tonnes
Plant Worker Cells (Their Version Of Crew): 80 Cells
Approximate Value: 437K Credits
Broadside runners are the common harassers to enemies like Cross Mining Co. Their armaments make sure they are effective against their commonly shielded enemy. This Ship was discovered in Late November 2064, harassing a mining location at Centarion VIII. They operate mainly as a ship that fights multiple weak enemies, but they have been known to be bold enough to fight larger ships, spinning around when one side of them is destroyed. Scientists have recently uncovered a crashed Broadside Runner on Titan, Containing Two More spies who also didn't escape.
PHOTON DECIMATOR
Mass: 571.3 Tonnes
Plant Worker Cells: 154 Cells
Approximate Value: 645,650 Credits
You know that one guy from that one show, Who jabs a guy rapidly and then that enemy explodes? Think that guy if he was a spaceship. The Photon Decimator is probably Domini Naturae's reason to boasting their ship superiority. It's disgusting strategy: Just shoot at enemy weapons. That's it. But how effective is it? There are stories of ships not being able to counterattack and face slow but certain defeat. Just like us, the enemy ship slowly succumbs to destruction. Surprisingly, the deep teal streaks are created from heavy metal from asteroids and ship scrap. The Grey is actually from Sundiom Steel, An element discovered thousands of years before any history about Domini Naturae. It Was first sighted in 2065, Patrolling Grey territory. Whoever intercepted it with intentions of malice were destroyed quickly. If you see the ship coming to fight, You're Already Dead.
JAUNTLEAF
Mass: 117.2 Tonnes
Plant Worker Cells: 28 Cells
Approximate Value: 134,050 Credits
Jauntleaves are superiority fighters. Their overall arsenal (PLUS SHIELDS) makes them lethal in numbers. What's more? Their cost makes the Nanovores cry tears of pain. Imagine a swarm of these versatile multi-gunned ships tearing through you in three different ways at once. Unfortunately, the victims of most minor skirmishes don't have to imagine how this would feel like. It comes Naturally at their appearances. Interestingly, The blackish diamond paint is actually nerve clusters combined with traces of sundiom steel, making the clusters inside less vulnerable. But, since this is a fighter, That usually doesn't matter. Surprisingly, The first one was actually discovered in 2016, Crashed in Paris, Texas USA. (Look it up, It's a real city!) The government covered it up until 2043 for a news article about what specimen Naviganti knew about any weird occurrences in the past. After that, the first appearance of a living one was in December 2059, Where one harassing the nebulox space station was taken out from the inside, leaving it more than intact to be studied. This was when Sundiom Steels' Chemical composition was discovered. Even today, in 2065, Scientists are still trying to make an artificial sample, to no success. SHOULD they be successful, It'll revolutionise the armour industry.
THE TREE OF BLIGHT
Tree On Left. On right: Carnivore Magic Stick.
Mass: 3722.8 Tonnes
Plant Worker Cells: 816 Cells
Approximate Value: 3,798,400 Credits
Trees of blight grow fleets like leaves. Or fruits. They may look off, but they don't actually "Split". They instead pump metals into each ship, and then makes the ship use it's mysterious drive to phase out into a fully grown ship. An odd factoid is that the ship itself is actually just the tiny escape pod. This seed is what grows a small army. Impressive, if I do say so myself. One fact is certain, however: You would hate to run into one of these things. This ship was discovered very recently, scientists first thinking it was some sort of mutant Domini Naturae seed. Let's just say their day was ruined after that, with the three million dollar fleet quickly laying waste to the scientific vessels. Scientists cannot be more fascinated about all of the biological systems that happen in the processes however, and rightly so; The nutrient delivery is near instant, The metal hardens in the correct locations within seconds, and technically the ship doesn't split at all. It more or less reproduces. About every year at least will the ship itself reproduce through mitosis, which is quite uncommon for bigger beings. No wonder scientists take so many notes- why would they not? Just never try to get a hands on experience, or...
...Yeah. Thought of the day: Hands on science is not ever the best idea in space, isn't it?
NATURAEVIS
Mass: 1107.9 Tonnes
Plant Worker Cells: 264 Cells
Approximate Value: 1,223,450 Credits
(Fun fact: Apparently in Latin force and wrath are interchangeable?)
It's not every day a ship is named the wrath of nature. The Naturaevis is a one word form of Naturae Vis in Latin, which either means wrath (or force) of nature. Although it's really just a giant Photon Decimator, It's a lot more effective than the aforementioned. The two layers of shielding make it effective against enemy fire, but the shields are mostly temporary due to their massive need for energy. Meanwhile while you were taking down the shields, the electro bolts were already eating away at your ship, leading to your slow, unfortunate demise. This ship was actually discovered in October 2065, again discovered by Cross Mining Cooperation. These attacks are getting more common due to one of Domini Naturae's new allies, The Blood Cult. On another hand, It seems like Domini Naturae named this ship in Latin for some reason. But they again picked a really good name.
BIOLOGICAL EXPERIMENT #93: THE GALACTOGNAT
A full scale battle between Domini Naturae's newest creations and a Cross Mining Co. Ground.
Mass: 195.9 Tonnes
Worker Blood Cells (Type IV): 50 Cells
Approximate Value: 266,650 Credits
Domini Naturae didn't like the name we gave them for nothing. They found it... Fitting, for some reason. Turns out, one of their biggest hobbies is Bioengineering! This field is one of the few places where they actually use technology, but trust us when we say they are proficient at it. We'd recommend using one as a slave for this purpose if you capture one, instead of killing it. Enough of opinions, we have horrifying news: They have recently created the "Galactognat", A spacefaring insect that breed rapidly and is armed with uncanny biological weaponry. We know it's their doing for two reasons: The Bug is not natural, and more obviously, the rare Biocrest of their creator, Terribili. The Bioengineer's nickname is literally Latin for frightening, which is fitting because half the time that's exactly what it's work is. But honestly, we don't know a lot about Terribili, except they gave themselves a Latin name, and they made THIS MONSTER. What makes the Galactognat monstrous? THEY KEEP REPRODUCING. THERE ARE HUNDREDS AND REPORTS SAY THEY WERE MADE JUST TODAY. We know that their brains aren't big however, and they are slow to react to commands. To be honest, the best idea is to just aim at one in particular. We don't care where, as generally they'll die quickly. But still be aware as they are quickly taking over parts of the galaxy...
THEY'RE EVOLVING!
They have slightly altered to be more proficient in attacking. This is highly disturbing, and the evolution is now affecting basically every member. This means they will be more lethal towards us, and now they are more vigorous to take over even more territory in space.
STICKFIG
Stats Depend
We all know what the scavengers do. They poke stuff with long sticks! Domini Naturae and the Scavengers are slight enemies. So, naturally being the Seeds of evil they are, they decided to pull a page from their frienemies' book and gave it a morbid, disgusting, and unfair twist: Stab "Explodey Sticks" into the enemy, detach, and let it self destruct, probably on a group of reactors. They're stabbing the enemy with a death stick!... Death stick? Where have I heard that before...?
"I want to go home and rethink my life." ~Death sticks guy, Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
(Well, The enemy will be going to the space afterlife and rethink their lives there instead.)
Truly, Domini Naturae can be some of the most sadistic enemies in the galaxy to have...
(Update: The Scavengers are dead. Rest in Spaghetti, never Forgetti. RIP SCAVENGERS, 2016?-2017 IRL)
HOST BEETLE
Stats Unknown
We've just received word from intel agents that Terribili has developed a new Hybrid, created from a creature owned by The Burrowers, Infused with Galactognat DNA to create the Host Beetle. From data indications, These Gnats are a completely new subspecies we dub "Rock Gnats". Of course, there isn't much change to their core concept, except they stay in their pupae stage until ordered to hatch, making their transportation easier. It looks an odd lot like an asteroid... Perhaps It'll be used for-
... Those...?
AGMENTERRORE
Stats are heavily classified
Modeled after a Domini Naturae warship from around the year 1550, "The March Of Fear" is a Giant version of the Photon Decimator, And One of them now Each Crown a Domini Naturae fleet. These ships are more of treasures than fighting ships, and have pretty bad performance on the modern battlefield. (Technically, they didn't even perform well when they were created!) However, any ship that doesn't have a lot of weapons (Or weapon variety), or relies heavily on shields, (AKA THIS SHIP) will suffer against an Agmenterrore, as they are heavily burst attackers. Of course, The Regular Photon Decimator Mostly outclasses this ship- something that is quite sad to say. By the way, Does the name sound French or German? Surprisingly, it isn't. It's still the same Latin Domini Naturae sort of like for some reason.
Sutingurei Class Battleship
Mass: 2617 Tonnes
Crew: 398 Members, or PBC, Or something...?
Value: 2,131,200 Credits (But worth much more psychologically to Domini Naturae)
Reports say Terribili has actually made this type of ship his new capital ship. The Sutingurei (Stingray in Japanese) Class Battleship is a Red Sphere Collective Ship, Strong yet ultra easy to produce- The Last (?) RSC Mothership created thousands of these within seconds, using highly advanced fabrication technology. It is completely made of different types of Sundiom Steel, the trademark metal of the RSC. Because of this, if the ships weren't so withered away by now, They would be nearly impossible to destroy. The reason thses ships mean so much to Domini Naturae as a whole mentally is because it's symbolic for finally Dominating their masters and owning their tech. As we speak, Terribili is probably searching up information other factions can't decode, and eventually, He might discover how to achieve the effects of the Mothership. In the meantime, he's also customising his personal one, folding his old Photon Decimator back into a seed, and -Literally and figuratively- Growing into his new ship. Who knows what'll happen now?
TACHYON DECIMATOR
Stats Currently Unknown
As a twist for this review, Terribili Actually joins us to describe his newest creation! Go ahead, Terribili!
I'm not going to say anything except it WILL kill anybody that tries to destroy it, and it is much more efficient than a Photon Decimator. Uhm... Okay. Well, you heard the man! (Cut)
QUANTUM EXPERIMENT #21 AND #22: UNKNOWN
Human Scientists and Spies have Discovered that two new Fields have Been Discovered. Neither of these have been observable, Except for #21. #21 Is actually observed Around Unbelevolent! Spies have reported these fields being called the Arsceant Field and the Plaeclarum Fields, Respectively. When asked about the names of these Fields, King Zaran of the Elusive Zenioth Race Had this to say: Domini Naturae Do not know yet about the Unbelevolent. They have the Pleasantry of not discovering them. Yet... The Arsceant Field is Related To the Eye... No. The Eyes are basically Embodiments of it. The Field Affects Neurological receptors, Causing Insanity, among other things... Heck, even Psionic Potential! But, This should not be news to be Praised. It should be feared. As for the Plaeclarum field, it'd seen that It's named after Terribili's Father... Wait... How would I... Know This?! WHAT IS GOING ON-
(Technical Difficulties... PLEASE STAND BY)
Um... Half our studio has been evaporated, and The King is missing. I mean, He'll be back, we sensed that it was a Nonlethal Teleportation. But in the meantime, The Plaeclarum Field we know more simply, as it's basically a Risk-Free Version of the Arsceant Field. The last thing our daring spy captured about this is that Terribili Was recorded Tampering with Some Glands of Galactognats... Oh no... I have a bad feeling already! Last time this happened Galactognat Efficiency was Increased by 25% Because of a Massive Brain Mass Increase! Uh... Keep your defences primed.... Folks...?
WAIT! Before we forget, We discovered from a Transmission the Nature and name of the Creature- No, Monster- He's Creating: VENUSPULA.
It would seem our Good Old Spectra friends are Getting some Really Evil Cousins... And, Also reported, They can Create Fakes of themselves called Bushin!
And finally... This Transformation is Accessible to ANY GALACTOGNAT. (Well, Almost, anyway.)
This means they'll Possess Psionics and Everything! Generally, Even the least Costly of attacks will become Exceptionally Deadly. And who Knows what Domini Naturae's ALLIES will do with these Fields?! It definitely seems like some sort of Hellstorm's headed for this Galaxy! Like... Some sort of Massive Galactognat swarm can be coming again or something! AND THEY'VE BEEN BREEDING DURING THE DOWNTIME! OH THE HUMANITY!
Well... This news report Couldn't have gone more wrong... We couldn't even maintain structure because of JUST how dire the situation looks for us... Well, Until next report...
ARSCEANT DECIMATOR
Mass: Estimated to be about 750 Tonnes
PWC: 128 Cells
Approximate Value: Around 600K Credits
Recent Attacks suggest that Terribili has created a new type of Decimator-Class. This new Decimator Is a sound mix of Offensive and Defensive Capability, and it is much more hardy against attacks due to it's triangular shape. From Scans, We have discovered that these ships have the second Highest Density of Sundiom Steel EVER RECORDED ON A DOMINI NATURAE SHIP! To hide this, the ship uses engineered biochemicals to Change the colours of the Ship. However, It couldn't block the Resulting Drop in Brightness from the metal. This serves it well, as that makes it more than Fitting for Terribili's personal fleet. Rumour has it that the design was actually Prototyped by EMV Scientists, and that they actually possess a few of them in their own navy. That aside, It can't be denied that this ship is like a brick in combative nature. However, Terribili is adding in some finishing touches and creating a Twin Class that is a lot more "Glassy" In nature. Really, That one should be named the Arsceant... But, Hindsight is 20/20, I guess. In the meantime, Despite it's fast Introduction, The Arsceant has been proving itself as a lethal force.
PRAECLARUM DECIMATOR
Estimations are running in, but So far we lack any true Numbers.
At the same time, Terribili Naming this after what's apparently His Grandeous Blood Relative was a great idea. Possessing 99.99% Sundiom Steel per centimeter, This ship's hull is polished and basically indestructible. There is so much steel not even the Bright Orange Striping is even orange; It looks more like Withering. Terribili is rumoured to have a new capital ship even larger than this one, but for now The Plaeclarum is already a Statement of Domini Naturae Shipbuilding and Power. The Ship even has Fast Regenerating Internal Colonies, which, Should the ship be lethally attacked, Will regenerate from the Ashes and Attack as two very small ships. It's not a pleasant surprise inside for the enemy, but it become increasingly horrific when you realize just how fast it keeps reproducing these organs: Every Three Seconds a new one is generated, And They Repair their Stem before leaving! And not to mention: There are EIGHT Missile launchers installed on this ship, and Each of them can fire consistently! Just add the highly resistant triangular shape, heavy shielding, and those oh-so-infamous Electro-Bolts, and you have quite a dangerous ship! It's weaknesses are that it actually needs a Sophisticated "Brain" (Sensors) To Strategically aim, and also the fact that if attacked from any angle than forward the ship is Highly Volatile, And you soon realize that this ship is much alike the non-triangular Decimators, in the sense that if their shields are Penetrated, they resemble a Bionuclear Bomb. That does not mean that this ship is not deadly- It's highly tactical Brain will take account Factors in battle, such as ships headed for it's vulnerable Backside Flank, And Act accordingly. For example, If you tried to maneuver a Beta towards it, The ship would Electro-Bolt the Shields, and THEN fire it's missiles, Effectively shredding the Foe. So despite it's weaknesses, The Praeclarum's Brilliant mind is it's primary saving grace when it comes to usefulness. That aside, It is worth mentioning that despite the sudden attacks of Terribili, This ship is rarely seen. Scientists speculate Terribili is saving these for "Special Occasions".
ELECTRON DECIMATOR
Stats Unknown... Yet again
I couldn't even sleep tonight knowing this was out there. A TINY BLEEPING PHOTON DECIMATOR! Why's this so scary? IMAGINE BEING MAIMED FROM ALL ANGLES! The good Ol' Decimator could only Disintegrate you from ONE angle! But from the same Approximate Credit cost, There can be 3-4 Of these little demons tearing your systems apart at once! These ships were first detected in a very Treacherous fight between Them and some Corruption. Put simply, The Enemy parasites were ANNIHILATED! Although they can become infested, no spike could get close enough to one and penetrate their shields. The funny thing about this is that now Our Good friend Terribili Knows about the Corruption... Wait... Oh god please no. That means a Very Cautious Chief Bioengineer could be making their own corruption or something! But that won't happen... Right? (I doubt it isn't, because Terribili is still Hardworking with their "Project X" as ever, Probably... Meaning that The Corruption could be one of the many Parasites being mixed in.) Well, In the meantime, It's the classic "What to do" When it comes to decimators...
...RUN!
ARSCEANT DECIMATOR VERSION TWO
Mass: 732.3 Tonnes
PWCs: 132 Worker Cells
Approximate Value: 633,300 Credits (Technically Much more)
We finally possess Data for a New ship! The Arsceant Decimator was recently updated, So we infiltrated a Facility and got proper data on the ship. This new version has Shields that are more effective at protection, as well as Improved Turning on the inside. And also, Thrusters on the back for a little extra Speed in-between fights. This decimator is very lethal in combat, and It's reactors make it like picking apart a leaf- You can take a part easily with effort, but a Huge piece still remains of it! This new version was also first located at the battle of an Unspecified Nebulae. Funny thing is, It's rumoured that a Purple ship was sighted inside the Nebulae. We're investigating currently, but we're desperately avoiding the Corruption that survived the battle by fusing together. In the meantime, You wouldn't like to fight one of these things on the battlefield!
STUPPEA FLAMMA VITES
Stats Unknown- We Cannot Even Guess How Heavy It's Become
"The Flaming Vines Ensnare their Prey. Thou who try to get out of their reach suffer a Horrific fate. If Thou ever think of Fighting back, Give up, Fore it's wrath cannot be Quelled."
~Domini Naturae Poet, Name Unknown
This Monstrous ship was only recently discovered, Creating it's own Compliment to assist It in it's hunts. We Initially feared they were out for humankind, and I don't doubt they will be in time... But it's prey is the Corruption! It swells itself with whatever Corrupted Stuff it can find! It seems to have been made as both a control agent and a Sample collector, But It seems to be Unaffected by the Highly dangerous Corruption Protozoa... How? Well, Put two and two together, and go ahead and Guess. Here's a Hint: Chief Geneticist.
Anyway, It is actually Slightly Intelligent, which means It operates without direct command. Another, Much more stupendous ability of the Ship, Is that It can actually use It's Namesake: That Isn't just a Paintjob... It can use them like how Spawn uses his chains, For crying out loud! It'll SLAP you if you try to Fight it! As for the Jauntleaf Compliment... We can guess they're supposed to prevent Flanking. It may be fast, But it's still huge, After all.
It also lacks access to the mysterious drive Domini Naturae usually use, And instead uses stolen FTL drives Ripped from enemy ships. This is probably a precaution to make sure nobody can Snatch and Reverse-Engineer them. It's only logical, seeing how Terribili doesn't want anybody getting into- And destroying- Gaia, His precious gem that we'll probably never find. There, There is the heart of Domini Naturae and the N.O.T.M..
Now that I think about it, One, Isn't his goal sort of hypocritical now? And Two... This is basically the Domini Naturae's version of Frankenstein's Monster... Right?
~As Humans, We cannot possibly know a lot about them yet. We will discover more in time.~
