”Child soldiers…” she said quietly. ”Was your nation some sort of dystopian military state? Surely otherwise they wouldn’t allow such horrifying crimes against their own populace.”

We were originally.. made to fight the Innies, rebels fighting against the UEG and UNSC. All was going well.. then the Human-Covenant war happened.."

From my knowledge dealing with other factions in the great uprising super-soldiers couldn’t make enough difference to justify the cost let alone the gruesome things they did to those people.”

"I dont remember much because of how much pain it caused. As far as I know, they gave no anesthesia. I almost didn't survive the augmentation. Many weren't as lucky as me."

Natalie sets her hand on arra's shoulder in an attempt to calm her.
"...Yeah."
The AI Plays a Muted Scene of one of the procedures straight from Natalie's repressed memories, a moving hologram of pain and suffering. Natalie lets out a pained grimace before taking the ai out of her head and with a grumble putting it in her suit's hardcase.
"S-sorry.."

Her hand is rather heavy considering the armour. "But this is against galactic law o-on so many levels. Even the old British Monarch State of Culture and Civilization was more humane than this!"

"gh. One sec, i'm gonna go do something."
She stands up and begins to walk towards her dropship.

After some time, arra hears very light footsteps behind her as natalie walks up, no longer in her armour and instead in a casual outfit with a blue hoodie and jeans. She takes a seat beside arra with a chair she grabbed from the dropship and puts her hand upon arra's shoulder.
"Hey.."

"Oh you changed. I'm sorry you had to go through that. One thing that I have to ask you, do you get any rest. I mean does your AI or PTSD bother you nonstop?"

"Its fine.. I get rest, the AI Tries to help, but sometimes it just goes a bit too far. It helps overall but sometimes.. i jsut have to take it out for a bit..."
Natalie curls her knees up into the chair and sighs.
"so, uh.. do you want me to continue with the story..?"
