Prepare to Drop
Prepare to drop. Stand by for Landfall rang over the intercom of the frigate Arabia as its ODSTS scrambled towards the drop pod bay. Chairs were flung back, a card game was thrown on the table, and a younger ODST hopped around trying to get pants on as the orders rang through. The ODSTS reached the nearby ready room that connected right to the drop bay. A table showing the holographic display of the drop zone illuminated the room in a blue-white glow. Weapons were cycled through, the clacks from fresh magazines being inserted could be heard throughout and the sound of gear being equipped and thoroughly checked was heard as well. As the ODSTS lowered their helmets the visors shifted from clear to opaque. The light from the display caught on them, illuminating them. Some of the helmets had custom designs etched around. A shark's jaw, arrows, and even a heart. The door to the drop bay opened nearby and the room emitted an eerie red glow from the lights as the troopers walked into it to get to their pods.
As they all sprinted from their bunks they could hear the thunder of the frigate's main MAC gun firing. The deck vibrating under their feet as they ran to the bay. The ship must have engaged hostile forces.
Orders and Questions
Maria kent, the commander in charge of the entire UNSC operation listened intuitively to Admiral Blue as the mission was laid out before her. Admiral Maria Kent, or Admiral Kent as she was known professionally was one of the greatest admirals in the UNSC Navy. Her great feats like at the Second Battle for Earth where she held her own against an enemy group much larger than her small section of the defence fleet. Her actions there had earned her respect amongst her fellow seamen and women. The wrinkles in her face tightened as she thought. She was unaware of the power of the ships defending these targets. She needed to know what capabilities and what weapons they have. She raised her hand and spoke: "What sort of tactics will they deploy when they retaliate from our initial attack?"
