The large supercarrier concentrates its fire on the Nova. It launches missiles at it as well. Streaks of literally thousands of missiles are seen firing from its launch tubes. Nothing nuclear as of yet as the situation is not dire enough for it. The supercarrier does, however, launch its bigger anti-ship missiles configured with a non-nuclear payload. The large missiles speed towards their target which is the nova.
The smaller ships around the supercarrier such as the frigates lay down a suppressive barrage of fire from their coilguns. Decimating the smaller enemy ships. the frigates defence guns as well take out many of the tie fighters approaching.
Admiral Kent looks at the battle from the viewscreen of the supercarrier's bridge. She walks between stations and looks at the holo table in the middle of the room displaying the status of the ship. She watches as the thousands of missiles launched already have firing paths locked on, and as they fly towards their targets.
The Admiral also looks at a handful of yellow symbols displaying the oh-so-common nuclear weapons sign. The nuclear mines were placed around the TIE fleet. She notes the fleet's position and the other ships are a significant distance away where they won't be affected by the nukes blast. She orders the fighters to clear the blast radius of the nukes and informs the GBE of her idea.
The fighters soon after retreat back to a safe distance. At the moment it will look like the TIE fleet is winning.
The nuclear mines are armed and with her neural interface, she submits the correct codes for detonation. She watches the viewscreen as the yellow nukes signs disappear and she looks out the viewport of the bridge which polarizes instantly to stop the blinding effects of the numerous mines going off.
Today was definitely the day to be on the good side..
