The seeker of a H-114 LRaaM is comparable to the secondary radar suites of an XV-65, and more importantly, is outfitted with dual way datalink technology. Using this, Blizzard was able to look through the seekers of the incoming interception missiles, which by now were more than close enough to clearly make out the Silverhawks. The missiles themselves meanwhile rapidly began closing the gap between themselves and Reaper; if nothing was done about that then the gunship would be brought down soon enough.

Following after the interception missiles now streaked a flurry of medium ranged missiles, these aimed at Reaper themselves, one per fighter. The original interceptors would impact well before these missiles reached their targets, but they were a danger to consider nonetheless. Foxtrot was able to get much clearer scans given the increased activity. Not enough for the long ranged but weak AWACS radar to get a weapons lock, but enough to know the general whereabouts of Blizzard. Blizzard 5 pushed well out in front of the rest of the squadron, with behaviour typical of going for the merge.
