Backstory
Although the ARK-2 Heavy Cruiser was very, very powerful vessel, Redford noticed some large flaws with the design. For example:
Some sections of armor-plating were not present in most of the weapon systems and citadel, meaning a high-caliber explosive could/would destroy the entire ammo storage of both the missile and gun systems.
The mostly-Unmanned vessel meant that 1. Maintenance was hard to do in service far away from the home or allied front, and 2. Emp-based weaponry was extremely powerful.
The 45-Inch guns, though potent, could've been replaced by more reliable 3-Barreled guns in later versions of the craft.
These flaws meant that Redford had a conundrum. Either put up with the large flaws and simply keep manufacturing what was essentially a glass cannon, or build a sibling cruiser that would accompany the vessel. Redford chose the latter of the two options, and thus this new class "Battlecruiser" is now in Redford Navy Service.
The New Additions
This new class of battlecruiser brought up two things, as: 1. This class should not be a Battleship, as the Ravens were already good enough for the job and S. Battleships are now restricted from construction after the Falcons were completed. However, the size couldn't be smaller then it's Heavy Cruiser it was supporting, as it would then be targeted first. So, it was decided that it would be a similar size. The second problem was the armament. If this more armored, more manned vessel was going to be used, that meant less space for more guns. It was gone over multiple times, and the Shipyard (Which will not be named as it wished it's name to be removed from the record) decided to add missile systems, 3 Naval Guns, and light AA Laser Cannons. While this hindered it's performance as a true "Pocket Battleship" in Redford's terms, it prided itself on the fact that it could take on Bigger targets from range better then the Ark-2. The New vessel also prided itself on the new ship hull shape, which allowed it to produce a top-speed that was similar to the Ark-2.
