Explosive propellant and filler of choice for Spiveria: TNAZ (Trinitroazetidine)
Infantry Equipment:
Combat Skin:
The standard combat skin is made of linoleum and cotton with three layers, linoleum, air, and cotton. The linoleum acts as a water resistant seal making it suitable for operations at sea, in the swamps, marshes, and so on. While the cotton layer and air pocket are there for the warmth and comfort of the wearer. The air's and linoleum's primary purpose however is vibrational (sound) isolation, With the spiverian being more sensitive to vibrations it is necessary to protect against sound based weaponry or vibrational effects by creating a barrier between their sensory hairs and the vibrations. Thus it reduces the spiverians ability to pick up on vibration sources but the spiverian still has far greater environmental awareness in their immediate area than those without the same capacity. It also has the down side of reducing the ability to stick to surfaces as there is less hairs to stick to the surface which also to an extent hinders the troops climbing ability. A trained climber however can still climb even without spider like hairs to aid them.
However, the usage of linoleum is a bit troublesome, while it is none toxic, it is also flammable material (an you might be allergic to the materials used in it). For this reason vehicle crews and air men are given a combat skin with flame retardant rather than linoleum and has a coating to help stop and prevent the flame retardant's absorption as such retardants are toxic despite being less dangerous to wear in the event of say an explosion.
(shown without camo coloration)
(Yes I am talking about linoleum the fabric/flooring material. It was invented by Frederick Walton, linoleum is sometimes however confused for and used in reference to its more toxic counter parts such as vinyl. I learned a lot more than I wanted too about flooring and water and sound proofing materials while looking for said materials. If you have vinyl flooring make sure it was properly installed and sealed or just get rid of it. it is a health hazard and surprisingly a lot of water resistant materials are to some degree toxic. well...too be fair you can die from water poisoning if you drink say a gallon or two of pure water. Or drink enough to reduce the efficiency of the electrolytes in your blood which are other impurities such as salt.)
Utility Mask:
Okay, you can stop laughing at my art skills. But in all seriousness, this is the utility mask. The short description is Spiveria decided to be cheap and made a catch all mask. Now for the long description?
Here, the utility mask is not just a mask but also has a integrated helmet portion with the mask acting partially as additional padding. The helmet portion of the mask is partially electronic due to the IR lights that can be turned on and off. In the event any spiverian troop ran into an environment too dark for their natural night vision they can turn on the IR lights to increase ambient light for their eyes to pick up on.
The glass portion of the mask is designed to act as one way glass, light comes in but light is hindered from come out, meaning you can't see their eyes, or at least not well if you have that good of an eye. This also helps amplify light to make it some what easier on the trooper.
The mask is shown right now without its camo coloration and in its gas mask configuration, the mouth piece can be removed and switched with other mouth pieces that were built to fit the utility mask.
Doctrine Usage:
When the IR lights are in need standard procedure is for one or two squad members to hang out in the rear with their lights on and acting as big "shoot me signs", the troopers will just have to pray the enemy misses or they were flash blinded by the IR lights while looking through their own NR or IR vision that they miss anyways. Or put it on top of a stick as they walk.
Even if the IR lights are not needed they can be used as decoy targets that scream "shoot me!!!", just turn the lights on and leave it, put it on the tip of your gun, or on a stick, and poke it above that hill or edge and see if anything takes the bait by shooting it.
Spiverian Infantry Weapons:
SPR-01:
The SPR-01 was a rifle built for Spiveria, by Spiveria, for their needs and desires. The SPR fires .30 caliber rounds, it has a cooling belt made of metal that likes to absorb heat that attaches to the barrel and vents outside (two inches off) of the sleeve. The bayonet of the SPR is kept at a level below the top of the rifle to keep it out of the way when it comes to aiming the gun or using the under gun attachment. This particular model has a fixed scope mounting and a casket magazine that is held at a angle as it feeds from the top, the top of the clip can be used as a pseudo iron sight. The gun comes with a foldable bipod stabilizer.
Action\Mechanical Mechanism: Long Recoil
Mag-Capacity: 30 rounds
SPR-01A1:
This model changes very little from the base SPR-01. It changes the scope mounting to an adjustable slide mount.
SPR-01A2:
There were some problems with the feeding mechanism with the angled clip being held inside the gun, to fix this the internals were redesigned to allow the casket box mag to be used and fed into the bottom of the gun like a normal rifle, also allowing more space for more rounds in a magazine for the gun.
Mag-Capacity: 50 rounds
Assault Recoil-less Rifle-01:
ARR-01 is a 90mm recoil-less rifle for the purpose of bunker busting, destroying light armor, long range breaching, impromptu mortars in a team of 3 ARR-01 gunners and other missions such as smoke screening with smoke rounds. Shown with its standard iron sights with a telescopic sight.
Breach: hinge locked breech
Spiverian Assault Rifle-01 (SAR-01):
The SAR rifle series was developed after learning valuable lessons from the SPR rifles. The SAR rifles are integrally suppressed with a small muzzle brake to reduce the felt recoil of the .30 caliber bullets as they are fired. In addition it fires from the open bolt position using a fluted chamber. While these additions reduce recoil and make it more ergonomic to the user it comes at a cost of accuracy. Therefore to make up for the lose in accuracy the SAR rifle shoots a special rimless .30 round that was designed to compensate for the reduction in accuracy.
Action/mechanical mechanism: Blow-back (roller delayed) API
Magazine capacity: 30 rounds
SAR-SAW:
The SAR-SAW is a simple modification to the standard SAR rifle allowing it to also shoot from a belt feeding mechanism in addition to standard magazines.
GPMG:
The GPMG is a modified SAR rifle, given a longer barrel length and a quick change handle for sustained fire, it like the SAW modification take belt feeds and standard magazines.
SLR-01:
The SLR (Spiverian Long Rifle) uses an experimental angled rear trigger grip in addition to its forward angled grip. Like the GPMG it was given a longer barrel. Unlike the rest of the SAR series it is not integrally suppressed or roller delayed. Instead it is a more conventional long recoil operated semi-auto. It can accept standard magazines.
Action/mechanical mechanism: Long Recoil.
(guys I am not a gun person or designer, please don't slaughter my designs too badly, nor am I taking a stance on SBR vs Bullpup thing.)
Armored Vehicles:
Cryst IFV:
The Cryst IFV was named after one of its designers and engineers Cryst Burns. The IFV is capable of carrying a squad of 6 men, armed with a 40mm auto cannon and the standard load out of a GPMG (displayed with a gun shield). It is capable of switching the GPMG out for another mount if ever deemed necessary to do so. If needed the GPMG can be controlled either remotely or manually as needed. As well as being capable of having a missile launcher mounted onto the side of the turret.
Engine Type: Multi-fuel gas turbine
Armor: 48mm spaced composite armor capable of add on slate and reactive armor.
Speed: 80 MPH, 75 MPH off road.
Operational Range: 300 miles.
Amphibious capable
Cryst APC:
The Cryst APC is basically a gutted IFV to carry more troops and making it a bit faster than the IFV variant. It can carry up to 10.
Speed: 89 MPH, 84 MPH off road.
Amphibious capable
Cryst MLRS:
The Cryst MLRS is exactly that. a MLRS modification to the Cryst chassis. The MLRS is capable of firing both guided and unguided munitions allowing it to also act as a mobile aa using infrared lock ons or radar lock ons if paired with a mobile radar station or other radar devices that can communicate with the missile. These missiles are short range though as it is not a full dedicated MLRS modification.
Speed: 76 MPH, 70 MPH off road.
Not amphibious
Burns Tank:
The Burns tank carries the last name of the Cryst engineer Cryst Burns. It was designed to utilize the cryst chassis to its fullest while using an upgraded turbine engine. Inspite of the engine upgrade it is still slower than the other designs. This is because it also received an armor upgrade making it much heavier and sturdier. The Burns tank loses almost all carrying capacity, only able to carry no more than two in a tight squeeze or one optimal meaning at best it can only act as a VIP or medivac transport if no other option is available.
The Burns tank is armed with a 140mm ETC gun giving the shells it fires a higher performance than none ETC firing, 2 coaxial 40mm auto cannons for taking out light vehicles instead of wasting a shell from the main gun and giving it the ability to tear apart buildings that infantry are using against it. An a single GPMG that like the others can be controlled remotely or manually as needed.
The Burns tank while easy to produce enmass and is cheap because it uses the preexisting Cryst chassis it is far from perfect. It has no hard kill systems for defense, relying almost entirely upon its armor. Granted its armor is impressive using slate and integrated composite armor as well as capable of having reactive armor emplaced upon it. But is not enough. At best it is a light tank for all intents and purposes and at worse a stop gap measure during Spiveria's reconstruction.
Armor: 600mm integrated composite armor capable of slate and reactive armor add ons.
Speed: 60 MPH, 55 MPH off road.
Not amphibious
Viper Tank: (probably shoulda done what I did with the others for the contrast but o well)
Unlike the Burns tank that runs on a modified Cryst Chasis the viper tank has its own chasis. That is not the only difference however. The viper tank features a guidance jammer, and a single PD laser that is paired with a computer system that emits pulses to detect incoming missiles and projectiles. Once detected the PD laser engages and destroys the incoming projectile. Unlike the Burns tank that relies on a bore extractor the viper tank has both a blow out system (as seen on modern French tanks and some old ww2 German tanks) and a bore extractor for fume extraction.
in addition it features a large fuel supply and powerful engine in the back with blow out paneling.
Armament: 140mm ETC gun, 1 coaxial 40mm auto cannon, 1 GPMG that can be manually or remotely controlled.
Armor: 760mm of integrated composite armor, 610mm of integrated spaced armor, additional protection can be added in the form of slate and reactive armor.
Speed: 40 MPH, 34 MPH off road
Engine Type: Drip in diesel engine.
Operational Range: Approximately 300 miles
Not Amphibious
(like wise I am not a tank or car engineer/designer)
Atmospheric Air Assets:
Mass Transport Helio-Krono:
The Krono is approximately 110 feet in length and is built for logistics support. (The Krono is based off of the american CH-47 Chinook). The Krono's armament includes 7 mounted GPMGs, 3 on each side and 1 on the loading/unloading ramp. Above each GPMG firing port is a view port that can be lifted to make it easier to sight in on targets and the additional windows can also be used as firing ports if deemed necessary. (they can also be switched with a SAWRMG [its a long way of saying a mini gun])
The craft features integrated composite armor which limits its carrying capacity but is still able to transport thousands of tons of equipment. Speaking of, it can carry up to 60 troops and makes use of 3 quick deploy fast ropes.
Krono Gunship Modification:
(@dafeeeeeeeeeesh asked for it so here it is, no I am not gonna give it a autocannon dafee) A very simple modification to the krono mass transport helicopter that adds a remote controlled rocket pod which can be switched for a remote controlled duel GPMG system or Mini gun.
