As he came in contact with the orb, it flooded the corridor with the same unknown energy as the otehr ones did before, it completely engulfed Lemim, whose mind in the meanwhile was being overwhelmed by the next memory...
However, this one seemed different, it felt... final. Like an end to a long story.
Once more the view was from the same position, in the same room as the last vision...
In the background laid a shattered throne, the throne the shadow had formerly resided in...
The shadow in the meanwhile was panting on the ground, apparently on it´s last legs, literally on all fours...
"What... What are you?!"
The ambiguous figure the words were directed at was notably still standing in the same position as in the last vision and didn´t seem to have moved since, however much time had passed in the meanwhile...
I am me and only myself.
There was a long drawn out pause, in which neither said anything, nor did the ambiguous figure seemed to have any intention of finishing the shadow off.
In some regard, one could also say I am you.
...the shadow tried to stand up, setting one leg to the front and struggling to get up, eventually failing to muster enough strength and dropping on it´s back, there was none of the terrifying aura left...
"But that means..."
...it paused.
"How? This world has been abandoned, I have been abandoned. Why are you here?"
The ambiguous figure didn´t answer for a long time. Movement could be made out and it was as if it was staring off into the distance...
I am here to give you purpose. You wanted to heal this world, by destroying it, free it. But what if I told you there was another way? Every story meets its end, we may not be able to free everyone, but piece by piece we can offer salvation.
The shadow laughed, long, hysterically, mockingly, like a maniac, like someone that had lost hope, or his sanity...
"...and you´re saying you can achieve something like that? ...and what is the price, you idiot?"
Your hatred is the price you will have to pay. Your hatred, for salvation. Your hatred, to end your own suffering. Your hatred, for relevation. Your hatred, for a place you can call home. You may not know, but I know what you have been through, however with only hatred there is little you can achieve. He has moved on from his shattered past, can you?
...there was a long pause. A very long pause.
"He really did...?"
The shadow, laughed, but different than before. It seemed... almost relieved.
"You would not lie to me, you have no reason to."
With a considerable amount of effort, the shadow got back up on it´s feet, it seemed to have lost it´s aura of hatred and malice, it´s terrifying presence.
"Let us go."
Very well.
The next moment the shadow was simply gone, disappeared from existence without trace, along with it, the woman which had been lying on the ground seemed to have disappeared as well.
The ambiguous figure seemed to nod to itself, as if checking off a task from a list, it turned towards the shattered throne and the fragments began to rise, and reassemble, until a new throne eventually stood at it´s position, the throne seemed to be black and something was carved into its backrest...
Then the figure disappeared, as eventless as the shadow and the woman before it and the vision simply tore off abruptly...
Lemim awoke and found himself lying on the ground, it was uncomfortably hard and this last memory really seemed to have taken a toll on his body, thankfully the ground was relatively cool, albeit not cold, he seemed to have been sweating during the vision.
As he regained his composure and stood up he saw the orb was gone...
What was there left to do then, didn´t he see all he had to see?
As he looked up ahead he noticed the corridor was clear now, some distance ahead it seemed to open into a large room, in said room he saw a large object, as well as a number of people standing around it, however he was too far away to make out any details...
Who were these people, members of the Cult? Or perhaps people like him? Maybe something different entirely...?
