The volley of missiles reach the Delta fleet first, however, they are aimed for the bigger ships, but have to get through more than 50 thousand point-defense emplacements, that vary from simple ballistics to flak to flares and the larger white ships even sport a few high-potency lasers, blowing off the tip of the missile due to the accumulated heat it makes after about 10 seconds of continous flare onto it, compensating for the interdiction's effects.
However, one torpedo still manages to sneak through the formation, and digs itself deep into the nose of one of the large ships, most of its momentum is gone from the ammount of PD fire it suffered, so it manages to blast off the front of the ship, revealing a large mass of metallic ducts and flesh on the inside of it, that bleeds some sort of black liquid for a few seconds, before it seeming patches itself up, and begins to regenerate.
The large shells are also stormed by a hail of metal in Point-defense form, getting in their path only because they are large enough to be seen by the naked eye even. That, combined with the fact that it threaded through multiple medium and large ships before hitting the larger ones, made the shells only scrape the first layer of armor away, revealing what appears to be a second scale-like armor layer.
Then the planet went up in flames, to the surprise of the "Deltas" in the fight right now, they didn't even need to set it on fire, the GBE did it itself. The worse of all is that the Delta ships had recorded it all, through multiple angles all of the action was caught on numerous databanks of all the ships present, this was potentially more damaging than the eventual fate of Gnar, seeing as burning 1/14th of the surface of a planet, by itself, is already somewhat of a death sentence to the planet itself already.
Alas, the fleet was finally in range of its orbital bombardment cannons, close enough so that the burst combined with the likelyness of deviation made the shells be a nigh 100% hit based on previous analized GBE fighting doctrine and the speed of their ships.
Then, another storm of metal from the normal cannons, this was meant to disable shielding and swarm their point-defense system, since their main form of damage was deal with the multi-use orbital bombardment cannons. Then another storm of orbital bombardment cannons. mainly aimed at the Sunrise class. For demonstrative purposes, a nuclear detonation of 100 megatons can vaporize an area of 153 km². In total, the Deltas' artillary bombardment was valued at 10750 megatons, likely being able to vaporize the whole GBE fleet if every nuke hit at the perfect place in the perfect time, however, such vaporization was not necessary, since the sheer kinetic energy outputted by a few hits of the warheads was enough to turn the crew inside of the ships into sludge.
Then, the giga-ships (yes I'll name them that since "large ships" is already taken XD) fire a salvo of hundreds of missiles, curiously enough, none of them are aimed at the GBE fleet, nor at the planet, but at the Delta's own ships, one for each damaged ship, some dozens for the giga-ship that was hit by the torpedo.
At ground, it seems that the GBE made the right call on not waiting for the corvettes to leave, that would have given enough time for the locusts to spread to farther beyond their strike, but the quick thinking on their part had erased the locust threat in a sphere of blazing fire that reduced most of them to ashes, apart from some of the underground ones, whose dead half-scorched bodies were barely still recognizable. However, there was still the problems of the epidemics, their claws were a fest of viruses and bacteria, similar to a komodo dragon's mouth, both of which had been specially designed for the GBE's people based on the crew that the Deltas captured. If any infected person were to get out, it could cause an empire-wide epidemic, on the likes of an apocaliptic event.
