So I was playing the bounty part of the game doing well with my early ship designs. I get to a system that had a Station in it. This thing crushed me over an over. So I spent hours making a new ship that spanks station. Then I got it strong enough to kill Crescent wrath.

Cerberus is crushing me. I last less than a minute with it. My new goal is to be better than this ship. Is this currently the best Vanilla ship to fight?

I can make a mod that adds a better ship if you want. :3 of course, even i cant beat my op ship if i try to make another ship

Well I have to get through Cerberus first. You just don't skip fighting Vegetta and go right for Freeza.

That analogy tho
Yes, I'd say the Cerberus is the strongest ship in the game.
If you want a way to cheese it,

There you go. 3 of these can kill the cerberus, taking less than 10k in damage. (you'll need a lot of patience and micromanaging though)

BEST VANILLA SHIP RIGHT HERE

this'll do it easy peasy but youll need a lot of money

Because spending 8 million to kill 2 million is worth it. You will NOT get enough fuel, EVER to actually use that.

I think it is the hardest NPC to take down with a single ship. The trick to beating the Cerberus is to use at least two ships. It's got no meaningful anti-ship guns to the rear and is pretty weak to the sides so if you can fix its attention on something that won't die you can gut it from behind with large cannon or ion beam platforms or maybe missiles if you can get large volleys to saturate its point defense. I believe that splitting your value among more ships also tends to reduce FTL fuel use.

The best vanilla ship is all the good vanilla ships combined.

(That's the front of a Crescent Wraith, strapped to a Saucer, strapped to the wings of an Archangel, strapped to the towers of a Cerberus, strapped to the broadside of a Drakon Sword).

Deactivated-Account I have a ship that can take on two cerberuses at once

i have a super star destroyer which can probably kill 10 cerberus but if your going for cost i have thor's hammer which is aawesome

If you have enough money you can do anything you want...

            Use my Ragnarok class battlecruisers.

With cannons, ion beams and missiles, a less dangerous but still formidable ship.

            The Eos

            image https://i.imgur.com/JXTLJ8K.png

Heavily armored and equipped with lasers, it's probably the most powerful in the fleet.

            The Battleaxe

Quite literally has missiles coming out of its arse.

These ships were semi-inspired by the Hollownaught.

Or just use the CERBERUS TWO!

Missiles and the removal of redundant ion beams. Done!

Datetha Yes it is. The crescent Wrath is more expensive, but in an 1v1 fight Cerebus wins
Dave-II those lasers and ebolts on the sides of the towers won't shoot at anything because technically the actual gun shape is considered a block and nothing can shoot through it so everyone behind the 1st one is useless just though to let you know

I also think the Cerberus is the best vanilla ship. Here's my answer to it I built for this thread:

                image https://i.imgur.com/mlu3lIP.png

                Exodia:
                1345.8 tonnes 204 crew $1,079,450
Capable of 1vs1ing Cerberus for nearly half the price. Generally takes about $10k-40k damage during the fight. Enjoy!

Teg Good job on a counter that works for half the price! Also good job on the paint, it looks quite nice for a board with guns strapped on to it. 😛 My one complaint would probably be its speed. I'll have to try it.

Teg I liked when your ship broke in half and I now had two ships to destroy the Cerberus with

Jakeblake nothing can shoot through it

I know, but semi- broadsiding and turreting

Dave-II I dont think that it would ever shoot even with doing that. does it ever shoot in your experience?

culanns_hound Actually, I tested it twice. Sure, it took damage and I can imagine getting unlucky, but it worked. For half the price. So yeah, there's that.
