War.
An interesting concept for such a recent arrival.
And yet the huge figured moved on his throne to the sound of choirs as they sung the songs of praise across the huge titanic assembly hall. The throne, a very plain dais looked down upon the hall, the inlaid script written across both the walls and the floor while stylised tapestries denoted the past victories of his people in resplendent and colourful detail. Everything had been had crafted, hand painted and carefully written thousands of years ago and yet here they were kept to exquisite detail by the retainers of the Eaternia, the Ascendia Class super dreadnought that he resided from.
The figure who sat on the dais was huge, imposing and fully bedecked in his Annointed white and golden armour, it matched the livery and colours of the pristine hall and glowed slightly as the substance that it was made out of defied regular conventions. Not even the greatest artificers of their nation knew how to forge it. Athenite. One of the 10 suits that were worn by the Grand Exemplars and the Lord Exemplar as part of their statue. It made the physically imposing Lord Arconius much more than he already was, and gave him an angelic aura. His long white hair and pale skin were lean and clean cut and his piercing blue eyes stared at the man below who had relayed the message to Arconius.
He was not alone in this hall, on the contrary, it was full. Crusaders lined the main procession, behind them Paladins and then Allegiants of the Order of the Flame. Behind them in turn stood faithful who had come to listen to the announcement. On the main procession itself stood his four High Exemplars, behind them two individuals carried the banners denoting their personal heraldry. High Exemplar Renon, High Exemplar Faar, High Exemplar Reznak and High Exemplar Feoris, each in turn armoured in their unique plate. This wasn’t just a meeting to celebrate the successful crusade having achieved its destination, it was a war council.
The Eos Consortium had found themselves told of war, and yet they hadn’t need to start it themselves.
“This ‘Bloodcult’ they have given no other details?" The voice of Arconius boomed across the hall, only the choirs at the back were not disturbed.
“None my lord. Sensor readings have given us much, and the settlement of nearby systems continues. But it seems this species is intent on war with not just us but everyone that may reside in this new realm” The man who stood before him was Krious Harn the leader Priest of the Synod, he bowed when talking in his golden robes.
“Others? What can you tell me?” Arconius shifted again on his dais.
“The message was not directed lord, merely a broad spectrum outburst. We have detected activity from potential other empires. But no details have yet emerged. They will soon see his light as all of creation must” The priest stood back.
“Indeed. It seems our job is already being started for us. Ready the war fleet and the faithful. And rouse His Ire to wakefulness, it will let our foes break before us. This I command. Praise Eos, Praise the Eostine!” The last part was shouted across the hall, and immediately replied by all present.
It seemed the Consortium was soon to be at war. Their crusade would start in fire.
