Admiral Ernst surveyed the surroundings, the spherical holo-map being projected around him displaying data, information processed by the thousands of little quantum devices to form a network of highly advanced computers, processing powers rivalling that of a great amount of computers in the galaxy, backed by a network of millions of atomic cages housing untold numbers of particles ready to be processed as data by the quantum computers or it's inbuilt mechanical nanosystems. He surveyed the map compressed into a ball immediately around him when he noticed something coming from the sensor data... There. The fusion beam lance coming from the rear line of frigates and the cruisers. It wasn't deflected back at them, rather, consumed... This was strange, and some might even say supernatural however, while Ernst was an old man with deteriorating eyesight and brain capacity, he was still intelligent enough to see that beam weapons needed further experimentation. He pointed his finger at the sensor readings and then brought the rest of the translucent projection down, fading into the projection systems of the bridge as the crew looked at him. "There," he pointed out, "See that data? We're going to try to hit it with beams" he ordered the crew, his words being met with approval and nods, however some were skeptical, but what harm would it do to try? Their shields and ADS were up afterall.
The tactical officer, the man that co-ordinates all weapons fire on the ship, grabbed the speaker and yelled out over it, "Attention, lancer fire will be projected, re lock targeting fire on given coordinates and execute in T minus twenty!" The serviceman looked at Ernst and then nodded, confirming that the orders were indeed sent, and at the same time, the comms officer relayed the orders of the admiral to the fleets, and faint blue shimmers were seen coming from vents all across the fleet.

The bulk of Fleet Twenty began firing. First, the artillery line at the back spears through the fog with beam weapons. Next, the spinal lances of the cruisers and battleships projected their mass of angry blue beams at the targeted coordinates, and then they stopped, awaiting the result...
