This ship's Ion prism setup allows it to do 4000 damage to internal pieces and evaporates shields. Even if it's weak to most good ships and is simply four ships put together, it's the ultimate Noob-B-Gone!

This is absolutely not efficient.

To have the optimal efficiency, and in result most damage capability, you would want to have only 2 ion beams aim at the same prism (with equal power.)

You would want this, since the more ion beams you aim in a single prism, the less it adds to the total power.

There is a formula, but I dont have it atm.

Namek But each prism has 2 Ion beams shooting into it... Not to mention it's configurable laser means it can shoot 1 through 8 laser configurations.

And as I said, equal beams are most efficient to merge, not constantly adding smaller beams.

^ This design, directs 2 beams in a single prism, of equal power, having the best result.

2 of these combined is nearly more powerful than your oversized inefficient beam lol, being only a fraction of the cost.

Namek Wait, dos the prism itself counted as a beam, thus making it three?? I thought when a prism fired on another, it was a different beam code, like "concentrated beam" or something, Thus this setup to me made sense. The ion beams would be concentrated, then would have a snowball effect, gaining more and more energy. I do agree that it is in-efficent.

I haven't seen anything in the patch notes about beams from prisms being any different than beams from ions. Still, the efficiency drop from two merged beams to three is real but not a deal breaker. Your design's power is low because you feed weak beams into strong ones, and the efficiency losses are always applied to the strongest beams first.
