I am confused about the ion prism. someone please tell me

Place an ion prism with an ion beam (or multiple) pointing into it. You can leave the prism to target on its own, or select it and use the link button (bottom left) to make it point at another prism, even one on another ship. Using a prism to redirect a single beam results in no loss of beam power, but combining multiple beams is not completely efficient; for best results, combine two equal-strength beams at a time. Finally, ion prisms are fragile and will explode if destroyed while a beam is passing through them, doing damage proportional to the power of the beam.
