Once I have enough, I will battle them against each other in 4 tiers, and there will be 4 victors, one from each tier. Ships have to be within building range (a couple blocks here and there is ok, since I always load Cosmoteer with the Huge ships mod enabled.)
Final date of entries to be decided.

Cosmicdestroyer I would like to know the maximal and minimal cost my ship may have. (Also, do you mean the building range of the huge ships mod, or the purely vanilla one?)

0$-500,000$= tier 1
500,001$-1,000,000$= tier 2
1,000,001$-2,000,000$= tier 3
2,000,001$-4,500,000$= tier 4
If enough designs come in above 4,500,001$, I will create a tier 5 contest as well.

I mean the vanilla build limit, but a few blocks here and there is fine.

Crystal Knight [Made as an experiment for the ion prism update, probably dies very quickly]

Dragon's Claw [Not sure how effective this one still is.]

Plainswalker [Old & imperfect. Yet packs a punch.]

Tier 4:

Overseer [= Buffed Cerberus]
[Note: This one does fit in the normal grid, but isn't centered properly, hence the illegal warning for vanilla.]

yeah but i think your ships even if their not modded would destroy most modded ships i make. i used warhammer 40k against some gif ships and they seem very effective even against modded ships but that was like a year ago dont know if its still effective now.

Well designed modded ships usually wreck vanilla ships. But yeah, which mod you use and how OP that is changes a lot.

Updates surely nerfed some of my ships, but not to a design-breaking point. They still function the way they should, while still remaining somewhat challenging.

damkiller Yes, they cost almost 1 million. Which is the border between tier 2 and 3. I think you may have misread the initial post.

Dragon's Claw's central railgun will do quite some damage, but the AI will make it broadside any ship, effectively negating the Railgun. (The AI does this with any ship that has a railgun running down the center.) I don't see any PD on the front of damkiller's ships, meaning damkiller's ships will be hard pressed to fight the missiles. I think Alpha's ships will win, but we may never know (you can change your entries at any time.)
