The sergeant sighs.
"I have witnesses who will verify whether you are the man we are after, as if we didn't know already. Please take a seat in the coach, we will-"
"I say what's all this?"
The voice is somewhat familiar, and when he turns to where it is coming from, Heinrich sees the man who was in the coach with them on the way here, striding toward them waving a walking cane in an agitated manner.
"Sergeant, explain yourself!"
"Oh- er- Lord Pierson, I am just arresting this man on-"
"Piffle! This man isn't a murderer, he was one of those who valiantly defended the Mail Coach when we were viciously attacked!"
"But we have-"
"I won't hear of it, you will consider this man as on bail until I tell you otherwise, now where is that ambassador fellow?"
"Who sir?"
Jasper lets out a grunt of annoyance and stalks off, without another word, toward the Mer-Palace, the sergeant goes red, then looks at Heinrich with contempt.
"Well sir, I am very much afraid you are free to go at the moment."
Adam guffaws, stubbing his cigar out on the wheel of the coach
"Yae hae thae luck o' thae divel tae be sure, dae yae need a lift aboot anywhere? I'sn aisn carrying mail tull tomorrow morn."

The Mer "King" is floating in the water behind the one who was speaking to the Ambassador, who starts, a look of panicked guilt in his eyes. It is not entirely clear how she got there, as he did not see her approaching at any point...
"I am sorry my lady I meant no disrespect!"
"Do not fear, for I took no offense."
They drift upward, breaking the surface, Mer-men and fishers are working together on the corpse of the monster, gutting it, obviously such a large food source cannot let to waste, the Ambassador can also see Jasper gesticulating at one of the Mer men on the dock, who appears to be having a hard time getting a word in, and in the end just points at the harbor, causing Jasper to spy The Ambassador's canine head bobbing in the water.
