Wait, is it intended that enemy ion prisms are immune to ion beams? I mean, on the one hand, it sort of makes sense, but it can lead to weirdness (and lore reasons for why they would only work with friendly ion beams are conceivable). I was fighting the built in ion frigate with my own ion prism ship, and I couldn't get close enough to fire my other weapons. It was firing at my prisms and I back. The stalemate lasted a minute till I thought to destroy the structure holding the enemy prisms to their ship.
Now because that is an interesting interaction that adds more gameplay, I'm not opposed to keeping it like this, but I don't think it's intuitive.
Also I wonder now, if I fire ion beams at an enemy prism, am I buffing their beam?
