Zetsubou_altist I don't think it's not seen as a serious issue, it's just not a trivial thing to fix, but it is indeed in quite a bad state right now, including ship control AI.
Few of the problems from the top of my head:
- Back facing missiles contribute to the decision of where AI should rotate the ship, while they should not
- When attacking enemy ships, your ship is defaulted to perpendicular/side rotation when using defensive weapons such as flak rotated to the back
- Prism AI rotates them to face right into the armour in front of them instead of keeping their rotation to the free space.
Some of the problems would certainly be fixed with programmable ship AI (like force front rotation for ships or similar) but some major ones are still not addressed from the changes back in the flak patch.
