This Branch is now open for business, most bounty or mercenary jobs accepted, STC specialise in pirate clearing.
The Stalker-Trapper Confederacy is a faction with a dubious history. Initially known as the Stalker-Trapper Conglomerate, the STC started as a bounty hunting organisation focussed mainly on dealing with pirates, though they weren't above acting as mercenaries if the price was right. Shortly after their founding, the Ever Legion pummeled through the section of the galaxy that they inhabited, and the STC suffered heavy losses, having to bunker down on planets to avoid destruction, this was where the Conglomerate turned Confederacy, as the reluctant colonists spread the STC's influence over a considerable area, and when it was found that the EL did not attack unarmed transports, the STC turned prosperous merchant nation for a while.
However all the while attack ships were being constructed planetside, and when the EL vacated the area many years later, the brand new vessels of the STC rose from the planets like surfacing whales.
The STC currently controls 30 star systems, with colonies in an additional 9, one of these "Branches" has been set up in the emptiness that is old Solaric Space, from here the STC wish to investigate the rising of pirate numbers, and make themselves known to the coreward factions.
STC Coreward branch stations in orbit over Branch Planet Tau Sticto V shortly after construction, supplies are still being loaded into the branch subsidiary station.
The STC are still a bounty hunter esque society, their ships sport bright white orange and blue colour schemes, and their uniforms are black with orange and blue rank insignia. Spacesuits are Black skintights with tinted fishbowl helmets, over which armour can be worn if necessary. The STC have a strict code of ethics, they do not harass civilians, they take prisoners only when an enemy force has surrendered, they maintain the name of the STC and they do not tolerate aggression toward the STC. This does not mean that a few corrupt STC operatives bend these rules... but that is for another time.
Ranks in the STC:
The STC is run by a Board of Directors, as it was when it was a company, these Directors are voted for every 5 years by "Investors", any STC citizen who yearly gives the govenment the equivalent of 1000 credits on top of their tax, this is effectively using a "pay to vote" system.
Citizens of the STC are known as "Employees", as all citizens ultimately serve the STC, whatever it is they do.
STC Beta wing, this is the force the STC currently has within the coreward systems, this force is average for the third of an STC fleet, of which they have four. The centre vessel is the Command Corvette, and the rear two vessels the auxiliaries.
STC Military distinctions are as follows:
Admiral: 1 at present, Indirectly commands all STC fleets.
Commandant: 4 at present, Commands an STC fleet.
Wing Commander: 12 at present, Commands a fleet wing.
Squad Commander: Commands roughly 3-5 ships, depending on type.
Commander: One per ship, Commands ship.
First officer: One per ship, Answers to the ship commander.
Lieutenant: roughly 4 on a corvette, 6 on a cruiser, 10 on a capital.
Shock trooper: Heavy trooper specializing in boarding missions.
Trooper: The "Crew" of a ship.
The Command Corvette "Igneus", under the command of Wing Commander Tremayne.
The STC have little ability to produce energy fields, and rely more on conventional weaponry and armour to protect their ships, though some of the newer or more strategically important ships have defense shields.
