Check to see if you have any logs: Documents\My Games\Cosmoteer\Logs
Documents\My Games\Cosmoteer\Logs
If not, then this is usually caused by an anti-virus program blocking Cosmoteer from running.
The last log is from March 3rd, 2019, and Windows Firewall & antivirus doesn't seem to be doing anything to stop it from launching. The CosmoServer seems to work just fine, but otherwise Cosmoteer does not start.
Ben2445Fun Windows Firewall & antivirus doesn't seem to be doing anything to stop it from launching
What have you tried? I would first try turning it off to see if the game runs.
I have turned off the firewall completely and tried to run it, however the same result still happened.
I just tried opening it again, and task manager this time said it had been suspended. I am currently looking into why now.
I have noticed that the CPU is doing something whenever I try to open up Cosmoteer, but does nothing after the quick spike.
I'm have the same problem, where Cosmoteer wont open but I've gone though my antivirus and that didn't help me out and I also have no logs in my Documents\My Games folder, can you plz help us out when you can Walt.
GaseousYew22 Check if you got the right or updated Net frame work https://wiki.cosmoteer.net/index.php/Microsoft_.NET Since you don't have a log give us some info about your computer specifications (OS, CPU, Ram, VRAM). It might be too weak to run cosmoteer.
Lafiel It might be the Net frame work I'll check soon but my specifications are OS: Windows 10 Pro, CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1400 quad-core processor, RAM: 16Gb and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with 3Gb of VRAM.
Lafiel Hey sorry for the late reply on .NET Framework not been on my computer for two day but yeah I have .NET Framework 4.7.2 which is the newest one on https://wiki.cosmoteer.net/index.php/Microsoft_.NET so what do you think I should try next to get Cosmoteer working.
GaseousYew22 Does Documents\My Games\Cosmoteer\settings.txt exist, and if so, can you put it in pastebin or something?
Documents\My Games\Cosmoteer\settings.txt
I've never heard of a case where the game not running without error or log file was determined to be anything other than an anti-virus, Windows Defender, or some other program blocking Cosmoteer from running.
Walt CaptainRedstone I don't know what to say but that the game just doesn't work for me and I just don't know why. No, Documents\My Games\Cosmoteer\settings.txt doesn't exist at all, in fact there is no Cosmoteer folder at all in there, I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the game and it still didn't let me launch Cosmoteer and it still didn't put Cosmoteer into My Games folder.
GaseousYew22 in fact there is no Cosmoteer folder at all in there
Does this mean that the "My Games" folder exists? If so, is there anything at all in it?
Also I have very similar specs to you, so it shouldn't be hardware... What graphical drivers are you using?
GaseousYew22 This looks like it's being blocked. Although, unlikely, it could be that was installed for one user. Are you running it with the same account it was installed with?
CaptainRedstone Yeah I do have the My Games folder, with 29 game folders in it. As far as I know my graphical drivers are all from the NVIDIA driver page and are all up to date as well.
Lafiel Yeah, I'm the only user with full administrator privileges.
GaseousYew22 Do you have any antiviruses besides defender? Also, have you tried turning defender off completely instead of just letting it through? (I wouldn't be surprised if Defender just decided to block Cosmoteer anyway)
CaptainRedstone Yeah I have Avira but it doesn't see it as a viruses unlike some of my other game which I then had to let it through before they started to work and I tried turning defender off to no avail.
GaseousYew22 Try turning off Avira if you haven't already. This would not be anywhere close to the first time an antivirus has silently blocked Cosmoteer.
Walt I'll have to try that later today got to get up in a few hours but as soon I've tried it I'll let you know what happened.
Walt Hey Wait sorry for the late reply been busy but I tried turning off Avira and it didn't help.
