At 13:00 hours, New Legion warships attacked Remnant inner rim planet Xanzar, located in the Y'kur Galaxy. Due to this galaxy being a recent acquisition, proper defense networks had not been properly set up. The population of the planet were rounded up and exterminated via orbital bombardment. The remainder of the planet was razed by nuclear bombardment. No survivors. New Legion warships were intercepted before they could activate their FTL Drives and were annihilated in an hour-long conflict.

At 19:00, a dormant wormhole opened up, and a ship exited, later identified as belonging to GOI #1874, "Illateri Sovereignty." Due to insufficient clearance to enter Remnant territory, the ship was swiftly obliterated after a short standoff. Contact was later made with the leader of GOI #1874, and a massive standoff of fleets has begun in inner Remnant territory. Remnant forces are being strained due to having to fight back against GOI #0372 and having to make sure that GOI #1874 does not make any advances. This specific entry will be updated when a new development has been made in this hostile encounter.

At 06:00, New Legion forces began to retreat to a previously unknown location. Radio channel scans showed conversation with an unknown group, later identified as GOI #1364, "S.E.I.N." Remnant ships were drawn into the territory of an unknown group of hostile ships, forcing a retreat. Scans of the ships accompanying the New Legion forces confirmed involvement with GOI #1364. New Legion forces retreated shortly after, allowing Remnants to drag them into hyperspace, arriving at a random location. Flagship Buchanan was used to annihilate the fleet. Platinum Star Commander Jameson Keyes of the New Legion has not been spotted since.

Overview
The New Legion is a splinter group of the Remnant Empire, originally formed by a group of rogue scientists who had stolen recently-discovered antimatter technology. Though they possessed the unlimited energy source that is antimatter, their limited resources and small fleet made for a pitiful resistance effort. However, the New Legion gained the support of the GOI #0726, "The Protectors of Innocence." Knowing that they could not face them alone, the Remnant Empire gained the backing of GOI #0527, "The Imperium of the Suns." The New Legion was traced back to their base planet of Sirius Alpha VI. Heavy resistance from GOI #0726 forced the belligerents to form a new plan of attack. They settled upon the risky option of starting an open rebellion. The people were armed with simple assault craft--their own design--and were taught basic flight tactics. The distraction of the Remnants allowed the revolutionists to cause enough mayhem to break the order of the defense fleet, causing pandemonium, allowing the Remnant fleets, as well as GOI #0527, to move in and take out command.
A New Legion distress signal was broadcast throughout local galaxies, bringing different factions--most notably GOI #0420, aka "The Second German Space Regime"--to their aid. The Remnants once again engaged with the New Legion. With the resources from a nearby Terran planet, surviving New Legion crew created large dreadnoughts with heavy shielding. Before all crew could be terminated, GOI #0420 stepped in, FTL'ing the survivors to a 'shield world' for protection. Before they could be processed however, Supreme Leader Buchanan of the Remnant Empire sent a transmission to GOI #0420, describing the true nature of the New Legion. They were quickly apprehended, and were sent to confinement, but quickly escaped, building makeshift warships, and exterminated a negotiation team that had been sent to figure out a deal for the release of New Legion survivors to the Remnant Empire, before being shot down.
The ones that made it out quickly recruited others to their cause, and began their new, solo campaign against the Remnant Empire. Casualties range in the tens of billions, mostly due to the New Legion's planet-wide genocides. The conflict at Xanzar was one such genocide.
