He then gets a small controller from the table, and plays something on the holo-desk:

On the video, a small piece of the plant matter is sitting on a petri dish, on a dark room, the camera is running on night-vision, still being able to see clearly what happens.
"This is scientist Juulzac testing a sample that we've gathered from the recent crash site of this meteor, it appears to be some sort of plant life, semi-sentient, but this is the most fascinating aspect..."
The hands that appear on the video get a small iron rod, then says:
"Zoom in, we're applying a #### volts shock at #### amps"

"One can observe a growth of about #### centimiters, this is most fascinating, we're already trying to pinpoint how this plant can absorb energy, not only electric, but also heat, and transform it into mass, but fear not, we've found effective ways to kill it, one can osmose the water out of it, apply highly corrosive acids to kill it, and we're even developing viruses and fungical parasites to kill it, seeing as the situation on site is getting worse."

General:"Do you comprehend the complexity of the situation, if you look right here, you can see a diagram of the plant's progression, we purged it off of the surface, but it seems that it has gotten down to the mantle, we can't do anything about it and it's probably consuming this planet's core's heat energy and growing, we're sitting on a damned time bomb!"
