You may actually use it to get rid of all your living scum, once everyone else got their piece of the cake (or died trying). I certainly wouldn't mind. And Gabriel neither...)
The scanners detect a strong EMP field just outside the planets atmosphere, traces of electricity on many spots, enormous shifts in the planets magnetic field and a single biological signature spread over the entire planet.
(PS: You've been warned...)
RedAndCosmoteer The area is completely empty, but the ground looks like someone burned the entire platform out of the mountain by enormous heat. The caves entrance looks like it was made using the same method.

KrankysFirebrand48 (This place is a minimized landing field for small planes or ships. The closest thing to a hangar would be the cave entrance and you certainly wouldn't want to stuff your ship in there. And please reply to @RedAndCosmoteer too, as those soldiers would be running straight into his guys.)
boombox Michael thinks for a moment. "We'll check whatever location your scouts deem most promising and good to access. I haven't had enough time to make a reliable map of the area, so I'll need someone to guide us." The other four shards and his sword suddenly come flying out of the jungle. "And we'd better avoid the giant ocean on this planet. Black water never means good news..."

KrankysFirebrand48 (I warned you.) RedAndCosmoteer The medivac in the cave seems to have triggered the alarm, as two large turrets emerge on both sides of the landing field and start scanning for moving vehicles or shooting. Whey look almost new and likely function perfectly, as indicated by the glimmering shields surrounding them and their charged beam cannons. Additional to the turrets, something in the cave started moving, now heading towards the entrance.

"Wir have zhe Karagarian Scout ZIki Korbar from zhe Fremdenlegion here, a very talented tracker and marksman."
A 1.5m tall man with grey skin and black markings and a flowing brown beard comes out of a tent close...
"Ah, yes, I heard my name. Is the expedition starting, Sir?
Korbar salutes..
"Any minute now, Sergeant. Zhe mission objective is zhe northern site."
"In 10 minutes? Yessir!"
The officer turns to Michael..
"Wir are ready.."
boombox Michael catched the sword and aligns the four shards at his back before turning to Korbar. "Head on, I'll be right hehind you." Turning to the officer, he adds: "And everyone has orders to inform me of anything he or she consideres unusual! You've got to be extremely careful, even with me around." He turns to face Korbar again before vanishing into thin air.

Korbar nods and climbs into an armored recon vehicle (ARV), which silently starts up its engine and moves.. behind them a flamethrower tank and a second ARV...
"Through to zhat coordinate..."
"Jawohl."
boombox (I'll have you take control of that part from now on. All of this planets dangers are at your disposal until you have the convoy arrive. Have fun.)

The convoy starts rolloing throughthick brush, and the sight is bad, until suddenly..
"Stop!"
Korbar ordered the convoy to stop quietly...
"Something is in the brush... I reckon one of these wolf-thingies I've spotted earlier today... Flammenwerfer 5 o'clock, light em up!"
The flamethrower tank turns and gives it hell.. Flames are spurting out, burning down everything around, and sure as hell, there was one of these wolves in the thick brush, which now was set alight...

The burning wolf tryies to attack the nearest soldier, while some nearby bushes turn into wolves too. "Annoying pests!" Their cloaked guardian starts projecting one-way barriers around the troops while vaporising some beasts with his entropy attacks. The only indication of this is the sudden disappearance of some attackers and the ground beneath them tho.

The attacked Soldier in Knacker-Powerarmor is unimpressed, turns and literally punches the wolf in the face before raising his flamethrower and lighting it up..
Korbar:"Go, Go, Go! If we fight them, more will come.."
The convoy starts rolling again...

...while ships were sitting in orbit and various landing troops had entered the atmosphere of the planet
and were now wandering it´s surface, somewhere in the distance a black silhouette appeared amongst the stars, a decent distance away from the planet and then proceeded to just motionlessly float there, whatever it may be, apart of blocking the light of some stars it was basically non-existent, not showing up on any of the nearby sensors...
Drakador_Chaos (What about space-time detection scans that cover the local area of a few light hours? )
