plooop Okay, so I am not one of the official teachers, but lets see what I can do for you.

Firstly, good on you for using compartments - that's a good first step. And a crucial one at that.
- First issue that I noticed was the shields - many of them are on the surface, unprotected. This is generally a bad idea. You should instead place them internally, so that they can be protected by armor.
- Those triple control rooms won't do you any good. Having multiple control rooms is crucial, but stacking them so close together (or right on top of each other in a line, like here) will provide no real bonus, as if one is destroyed, the rest will most likely go with it.
- I am not sure if the amount of power storages you have is excessive or not. Personally, I'd make more, smaller and more compact compartments rather than having so many storages spread out in such large compartments. There is a section on power theory in the guide I linked above that should clarify how much power you should need for your ship.
- The overall amount of firepower (compared to it's cost) seems quite low. The design has 7 cannons on each side (3 large, 4 small), and a total of 8 missile launchers. The front has a few railguns (which are not a wonderful spot right now, due to recent nerfs and buffs to flak). Compounding on this, your ship's firepower is very split, making it difficult to use all of its weapons on a single target. Your ship both has frontal facing weapons (railguns) and side facing weapons like a broadsider. It would likely be best to choose either front facing or side facing weapons and focus on that instead, rather than both.
- Speed seems slow, but this is a large ship, to be fair. If you can increase the thrust, I would. In either case, it desperately needs more reverse thrust.
- Sensor units don't stack, btw, so the 4 inside the center are somewhat wasteful.
- You could use more flak and/or P/D (Flak is generally "better" if you can use it) It's worth noting that the flak you already have will have trouble being useful, as flak turrets have pitiful rotational range, and they won't be able to hit things that come to hit your ship head on.
- Your frontal railguns are also seem poorly defended. Not enough shielding, and the armor barrels seem too short/weak.
- You're probably over-crewed in a lot of places. You could make do with less assuming you compacted your compartments a bit.
Anyways, I'm sure there's more, but that is what I've got for you right this moment. I'll continue to look and update this if I see more.
