Ludraven was standing infront of the map in the tactical center of the 'Celestion' one of the two flagships of the Keepers, the ship, just like most of the other ships of the newer generation, has been built with knowledge acquired by researching some of the precursor artifacts found in remote locations of G-S16, D-N7, X-T375 and a variety of other galaxies, as well as a not insignificant amount of help by one of their affiliates...
The map currently depicted G-S16 and it´s surroundings, things like the currently unaccessible core with an unknown fate, the former position of the TATC-System, galactical landmarks like the Maw in former HI-territory, the destroyed Anvil, a variety of gates, as well as the borders and positions of several broadly known and some less broadly know factions...
She sighed.
There has been not much movement as of lately, the research on the 'Delta' was going slowly even though a rather peculiar planet had been located recently and was now under investigation, there have been a few more attacks which still had to be investigated, once some of the other projects were done, the rogue entity on Alpha-73-D-Beta has been caught and is now being transported to one of the Vaults, the Cult in the northern sector has been revelaed to be a fluke, just some powerhungry religious leaders trying to grasp for more control over their followers and the relic in the 'Silverfang' installation had been acquired without much issue, setting aside the destruction of the eastern section of the installation, but considering the circumstances it was acceptable...
...and Avathurn? Avathurn had not been sighted since the attack on the now dormant Illateri.
She looked at the map, switching the data around, three green dots appeared, all registered sightings of Avathurn lately, so far no major losses were reported though, just a few research vessels and a small mining station but should it get near a densely populated planet?
Unthinkable.
She looked out of the holographic window, relaxing her eyes, when the door opened and one of Darknights stepped in, he did a formal bow, as expected from him and waited, he had the rank of a Templar, a decent rank, so he had served already for quite a while, likely survived plenty of battles, not leading his own fleet yet, but probably the commander of his own ship, even though their origin and history was forever erased once they joined the Keepers, each one of them was a fierce warrior.
The best some say.
"Speak, Templar, what do have for me?"
...he nodded and stood more comfortably...
"Two more minor factions have pledged affiliation to the Keepers, their forces are minimal but these sort of factions are always good to relay or acquire information."
She nodded...
"Very well, what next?"
He continued.
"The faction labeled 'Galactic British Empire' has tried to gain an alliance with the Keepers, in return for information, as per usual the proposal has been denied, however, it turned out in the end they did not have any useful information anyways."
She shook her head, one day they would learn that the Keepers do not interfere in inter-faction wars or alliances, they had other purposes and those required their full attention.
"Continue."
He nodded.
"Another attack of Avathurn has been discovered, he had wiped out the spaceport of the planet, T-1-X-Delta-4, but disappeared before reaching the planetside, unfortunately the distress call reached us too late, so all we can do now is investigate."
She sighed again, always too late...
The man spoke up again.
"However..."
She looked up.
"However?"
...
"Judging by the current patterns... the attacks will be getting more frequent soon, if the populations of the corresponding areas comply, we might be able to catch him on one of his next appearances."
Catch Avathurn... banish him for the next few millenia...
She turned around and looked at the map...
"Give out orders to gather the available fleets, stop projects of lesser priority and get the crew onto their ships, once they are ready, send them to key positions around the galaxy, we want to be ready when he strikes the next time."
He bowed another time and left the room without any further delay.
A good soldier, she thought to herself.
Catch Avathurn... erase another nuisance from the list...another distraction gone.
