...a few moments after the signal was picked up, several small black hexagonal plates ejected from the ships surface, flying outwards at ridiculous speeds, another few moments they seemed to just radnomly halt, several thousand kilometres away from the ship where their edges started blinking red...
After about five minutes the plates returned to the ship even faster than they were flung out, as if attached to it by some sort of rope, once the plates had merged with the ship again, it relocated itself in the same manner as it initially appeared in the area, a few lightminutes away from the signals source, likely doing more scans before actually approaching the signals origin...
