Above the Antares dreadnought...
Eight men sit around a bright blue holo-projector in the dim war room, checking statistics of the battle and giving orders to the rest of the ship while crew run back and forth through the long corridors...
"Jumping energy building up on a Syndicate dreadnought?"
"The enemy could be planning a retreat... after all, they're stuck in a tight position and cannot hold on for much longer."
"I believe that activating an interdictor of some sort is our best chance here."
"But I don't think we have an-"
"Just call for an ally, dammit. We don't have much time."
<Transmission to all Allied Forces>
"Warp energy signature detected aboard larger Ascendant vessels. Hyperspace, to be specific. Do any of you have an anti-jump method?"
Several MAC needles prove to be ineffective against the Republic's second gen. warp shielding, dealing some damage to the shield before being redirected to the fleet's core, striking a dreadnought and other ships at the same speed as they were going before. It isn't long before the shields of one Polaris-IV fall, MAC needles and lances slicing through its hull and knocking off a good portion of its front, disorganizing numerous crew members. Several smaller Republic ships including corvettes, escorts, and gunships are pulverized in the process.
The other Polaris-IV battleships that remain circling the AD fleet continue to fire at the foe, launching another volley of missiles and incendiary explosives...
"Focus fire on jump rings, keep them from doing whatever they're going to do."
